  • Congratulations, Silvy Un Lafayette, Ph.D. for receiving the Cheryl Broadnax Award for Innovation and Results! Dr. Lafayette is the Director of Assessment, Research, and Evaluation at St Louis Park Public Schools. She embodies generosity and a spirit of creativity. As a fierce champion of students, she is driving change in the school community. She challenges traditional assessment and leads teams of teachers to develop holistic, cross-discipline methods of recognizing progress and learning. Dr. Lafayette also oversees the work of the Youth Data Analysts, which has centered student voices in assessment metrics. This recognition was created in honor of Cheryl Broadnax, a fearless and dedicated leader. In May 2022, she passed away after a battle with cancer. She was a former assistant superintendent and an advocate of collaborative improvement in the K-12 system. Dr. Lafayette embodies many of the qualities that made Cheryl such an important part of our community!
