On June 20, 2024, SOCOTEC USA hosted its second Leadership Summit, our first in virtual format, titled "Weathering the Storm," focusing on legislative, insurance, and best practices for Florida condominium associations.     Industry experts provided insights into building safety regulations, strategic management before, during, and after weather-related events, and navigating all the complexities.     With over 100 attendees, the event was a huge success! Last week, SOCOTEC had the privilege of hosting BOMA New York at our Times Square headquarters for a panel session focused on “Navigating Local Law 126,” a local ordinance that requires owners of parking structures to have their garages inspected every six years, and to file a report with inspection results to the Department of Buildings.     The evening seamlessly blended professional networking with in-depth discussions about the complexities of the local law and the requirements for structural maintenance and reporting. These conversations are especially pertinent as initial observation reports for garage structures are due by August 1.     We extend our heartfelt thanks to our esteemed presenters, Michael Chen from SOCOTEC and Nicholas Morris, CAPP from Laz Parking, for their valuable insights. His journey includes earning the prestigious AACE Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) Certification in 2013, indicative of his commitment and excellence in the field; having a multifaceted background in claims and dispute resolution; and being poised to undertake the Certified Forensic Claims Consultant (CFCC) expert qualification exam.
