About us

SirenOpt is creating a paradigm shift in real-time, non-destructive metrology that will enable concurrent measurement and classification of films, coatings and other high-value manufacturing materials. SirenOpt’s solutions leverage cold atmospheric plasma for the characterization and classification of materials, utilizing electrical, thermal and spectroscopic data combined with physics-informed machine learning models. These solutions will enable many measurements that would otherwise be unachievable with legacy metrology systems. In many cases SirenOpt will enable non-destructive real-time metrology for customers that are currently constrained by expensive, time intensive and/or destructive metrology options. These solutions have use cases across battery, aerospace, semiconductor, electronic and many other advanced manufacturing segments, in both inline production and offline tool deployments. SirenOpt was founded in 2022 as a spin-out from the UC Berkeley Chemical Engineering Department. SirenOpt is supported by the UC Berkeley Skydeck, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Cyclotron Road and Activate science-driven startup accelerator programs.
