CEO at Pocus🔮 | Run your GTM playbooks, powered by AI

Have you ever thrown a gift in the trash without even looking at it? The answer is probably no (unless you’re a Real Housewife). Buyers are inundated with dozens of cold outbound messages every day that get immediately deleted. It’s hard to get your message to stand out in the sea of spam, but strategic gifting campaigns can help get your foot in the door at high-priority accounts. I love using gifting as a thoughtful piece of an outbound strategy, which is why we partnered with Sendoso, making it easier for Pocus customers to trigger gifting plays with a click. If you’re not sure where to start layering in gifting for maximum impact, I’m going into more detail in my newsletter tomorrow or you can check out our Sendoso x Pocus gifting playbook today for more details. Curious to hear from y’all on the gifting campaigns you’ve sent or received - are you using gifting now for outbound? What tips would you share?

This 'little' product announcement from Team Sendoso last week is so awesome for multiple reasons. ICYMI - You can now manage your event fulfillment requests directly within the Campaigns workflow on our product: https://lnkd.in/gWDV-YtJ Awesome-ness Part 1: Built to deliver immense customer value: We all witnessed the strong revival of field events earlier this year. With it rose the frenetic cycle of getting stuff to multiple events across the country (and back to storage facilities some times) on time with clear tracking and real-time customer support. Customers now have an in-app path to plan their next event (or their next series of events) and the product works the way field marketers need it to work. Specify the arrival date range, select the shipping time frame and Sendoso makes it happen. Awesome-ness Part 2: Built to scale: The more I learn, the more I am impressed by the effort our team invests in making whatever we build scalable for now and the future. It takes time (although you wouldn't know it given the pace of our Product team) and there are no shortcuts. However, our customers benefit when we eliminate the risk of human error or bottlenecks. Case in point: Would you rather 'set it and forget it' in the product or would you prefer to send an email request to 'blackhole@blah.com' and hope for the best? Kudos to our Product team for putting in the hard work up front to deliver #customerwow experiences. Awesomeness Part 3: Built with care: The delight is in the details. Rather than 'check a feature box', our team agonizes over the little things that matter. Need a return label? It's as simple as checking a box. Planning for multiple event sends? A single Campaign can be used for all of them. And the 'care' extends to how we actually fulfill our customer requests. it is not an unknown name at a 3rd party warehouse focused on filling boxes for multiple companies, it is our passionate teammates at the Sendoso Sender Fulfillment Center (SFC) that handle our customers' materials like their own. Our customers can easily get real-time updates and top notch support at any time. Built with care. AND handled with care! If your Field and Event Marketing teams haven't looked at Sendoso recently, do them a big favor and send them our way. We'll take good care of them.

We are excited to announce that Sendoso is bringing the event fulfillment flow in-app and you can find it on your campaigns page. Creating BYO Box campaigns for every event send? No need anymore, we'll create one campaign that you can use for all of your events. Having to communicate with our support team/CSM team to set up the timeline for the send? Choose the dates here instead. Need a return label? Just check the box. Learn more here: bit.ly/3YeWczV 🎉 #fieldmarketing #conferences #events

SVP Marketing at Sendoso | Former Sourcegraph, early Fastly (took them public), and Roku

Let’s talk marketing psychology (and pigeons) for a minute. Costly Signaling is a (much validated) theory that the meaning people attach to a message is directly proportional to the expense of communicating it. The theory originated with Amotz Zahavi, a biologist at Tel Aviv University, who watched male bowerbirds go to extreme lengths, painstakingly building and presenting elaborate bowers, in order to impress potential mates. (Take notes, guys.) But the theory goes beyond bowerbirds. When humans perceive that someone has invested a great deal of time, effort and expense in a message/experience, we confer that investment with quality — and we’re more likely to retain and believe the message. This is why, as Rory Sutherland says, we send guests beautiful, calligraphied, carefully designed, heavy stock wedding invitations through the mail — a group email invite just doesn’t confer the same meaning. Are you considering the medium of your message? We spend so much time testing, workshopping, rewriting marketing messaging — and then we consistently choose delivery methods that cheapen and dilute the impact of it. This reminds me of the meme about pigeons making the worst possible nests. 🪺 We are bowerbirds behaving like pigeons. Think about ads and emails — we can’t really control when the recipient will see them, what mood they’ll be in, or how many other things they’ll be distracted by in that moment. We also perceive these mediums as cheaper, because we know the same message is being blasted out to thousands or millions of other people in the same way. They’re much easier to ignore because we don’t confer a high level of value, quality, meaning. Now think about receiving a beautiful hand-lettered invitation, a weighty FedEx envelope, a beautifully wrapped package. That feels special. It makes *us* feel special and valued by the sender. And we make time for it. We bring it into our homes and sit down to open it. It’s an experience that confers quality and meaning. In a digital world, we obsesss over data and efficiency — but near-term efficiency doesn’t necessarily = long-term impact. The most efficient marketing investment is not the cheapest. It’s the investment that has the highest possible likelihood of conversion. Are you making the individual members of your target accounts’ buying communities feel special and valued? Are you delivering your message to them like a bowerbird, or like a pigeon?

On the Revenue Reimagined podcast, our Founder & Co-CEO, Kris Rudeegraap, shared an experience he had with a seller who sent him a personalized gift after doing some in-depth research. Kris said, "It was a great way of saying they were listening and I think it was interesting that they paid attention to the podcast. So, they put in the time and it caught my attention." BDR | Sendoso Gifting

First week on the job initial thoughts….Anybody who isn’t using Sendoso and gifting for sales is crazy!! Not only was I able to schedule 3 meetings on my first full day of prospecting. But I also had so much fun doing it! Sending gifts to people is the best. Whether or not they feel the same, I feel that much closer to building a real relationship with the people I reach out to. And the responses they give back, are not only more frequent, but positive. Which in the outbound sales day-to-day makes a world of difference. Thanks for all the good times to Austin Sandmeyer 🔥🎁 🎁 Katie Penner Tanner Lacey and everyone else.

Sendoso- Head of Sender Relations | 👑 Gifting Queen🧡 | Top 100 Female B2B SaaS Pipeline Pioneers | Rising Star Award Winner | Next50 Creator | Community Mentor

Spending time with coworkers and collaborating in person is unmatched. Now, don't get me wrong, I love working from home. But so far this week, I learned things about my coworkers that I would never have been able to learn behind a computer screen. Things like: Austin is ridiculously good at go-kart racing - probably because he used to race motor bikes professionally and be sponsored by Red Bull. 🤯 If you want a good spot to eat in SLC, Tanner is your guy (he also likely has Dramamine on hand at all times).🍴 Max, Josh, Andrea, and Adrien are the crew you want around for the most hilarious games of Heads Up in a hotel lobby after work. Side note - We also got to have a session with the INCREDIBLE Jen Allen-Knuth today that was absolutely 🔥. If you're a leader looking for an SKO speaker, she's the one. 💯 So grateful to have this opportunity to see coworkers & onboard Joshua Westover in person this week! 🧡
