YC Startup Insights Dataset ⚡ https://lnkd.in/gNv3S-Tj What makes Y Combinator successful? How has their investment strategy changed throughout the years? Have the companies in their portfolio lived up to the hype? Does going through Y Combinator increase a startup’s odds of succeeding? Using the company and employee insights data we’re building out at People Data Labs, I put together a dataset that may be helpful in answering some of these questions. A few initial findings that I thought were interesting: ✅ 4.2k+ companies have gone through YC - 2998 (70%) of these companies are currently active - 726 (17%) are inactive / out of business - 515 (12%) - 18 (0.4%) are public ✅ Roughly 12% of YC founders are Woman ✅ Average number of founders at YC companies: 1.8 ✅ 60% of YC cofounders worked at a prior company together ✅ YC companies that went on to raising a: - Series A: 13% - Series B: 7% - Series C: 3% - Series D: 1.5% #ycombinator #yc #startupfunding
