Pay transparency reduces employee’s intent to quit by 30%. But according to Payscale, it has a counterintuitive effect on Gen Z employees, suggesting that younger workers are more motivated to change jobs for higher salaries, particularly when they encounter job ads advertising higher pay ranges. In the same report, Payscale found that only 49% of organizations provide manager training on pay communications, which makes it less likely that younger workers are having the conversations they need to gain better understanding of pay practices.
