We are seeking a skilled and compassionate volunteer to serve our most vulnerable patients who come on board to find hope and healing. The Clinical Dietician / Infant Feeding Coordinator provides nutritional care for patients in the Infant Feeding Program throughout the whole continuum of care, from pre- to post-op, making sure they’re healthy enough for surgery and that they continue to recover safely. Not long ago, we prayed for safe surgery for the Africa Mercy’s first patient in Madagascar, Anjara, as she went into the operating room with our volunteer surgeons to repair her bilateral cleft lip. The 10-month-old baby’s journey has been filled with immense warmth and support from her family, volunteer crewmembers, and every one of you. Here’s an update on Anjara’s journey — a manifestation of God’s love and a testimony of an answered prayer! #AfricaMercy #Madagascar #NonProfit #HopeAndHealing

A day of play became years of pain. Yusif was bitten by a snake when he was only 5 years old. By the time he was able to find a hospital, his arm was almost unusable. Surgery was the only thing that could restore his body, but no matter where they looked, there was no one able to help. Until friends like you heard their call. Generous friends and dedicated volunteers healed Yusif and created a future full of possibility again! "I feel good now. I was not able to do anything before with my hand, but now I can do everything!" #YusifsStory #hopeandhealing

Volunteer nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiologists care for Mercy Ships patients. But who cares for them? Lead crew physician Courtney Vickery! Mercy Ships is looking for another crew physician to join Courtney’s team. This hands-on medical role is vital to the health of the entire ship. Are you a doctor who’s ready for a different kind of clinic? Join a multicultural, faith-based community filled with #volunteers who share a common purpose. https://bit.ly/3VDMbuN #FindYourPlaceOnBoard #MercyShips

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is partnering with Mercy Ships to help bring life-changing surgical care to remote communities across sub-Saharan Africa! Thanks to MAF’s logistical support, Mercy Ships will be able to access hard-to-reach areas and transport patients in need of surgical interventions across Madagascar. Flying with MAF saves time for patient selection and allows Mercy Ships to follow up after patients return home. When we work together, challenging terrain is no longer an obstacle to hope and healing. This renewed collaboration shows how strategic partnerships enhance humanitarian efforts. Mercy Ships is grateful to MAF, and is actively looking for more joint initiatives in other African nations! #MissionAviationFellowship #MAF #MercyShips

Imagine being trapped by the results of an accident that happened years ago. Now imagine you were only 5 when that accident took place. Yusif's struggle for the last 7 years has kept him from fully embracing the joys of childhood. But today, because of friends like you, he has a reason to celebrate: "I was not able to do anything before with my hand, but now I can do everything!" Free surgery means renewed joy and endless potential for children like Yusif — #ThankYou for being at the heart of it. Nothing beats the joy that comes when hope is restored! Our volunteers at the Hospital Out-Patient Extension (HOPE) Center in Sierra Leone organized an evening to celebrate the hope and healing that transformed so many lives. The voices of patients, most of whom were still recovering from surgery, filled the atmosphere with warmth and gratitude. It was a beautiful expression of thanks to God for the hope and healing that was brought to life, in this field service and beyond! #MercyShips #HopeAndHealing #Volunteers

Remember Papa? Today, he's back home after healing from surgery to remove a long-time facial tumor. The 21-year-old mechanic wanted to return to work immediately after his recovery, saying his dreams had been overshadowed by uncertainty for too long. Now, beyond physical healing on the Global Mercy, Papa has a renewed sense of purpose and optimism. #ThankYou — because of your support, every day we witness hope and healing in action. #MercyShips #SafeSurgery
