“Patients hate questionnaires. They will probably drop off after max 5 responses in an AI medical interview.” Turns out, not if the AI can understand and reason like a human! In the first month of its soft-launch, our D2C product MD&Me—the world's first conversational AI symptom checker—had an average interview length of 29 turns (approx 11 minutes), gathered up to 20 symptoms per conversation, and was reported to be "just about right" in terms of length by 93% of users. Take a look at what we observed and heard from 2,500+ early users or give it a try yourself at https://mdme.ai Read more about our findings at https://lnkd.in/gPfF7T5N

Stop thinking of Al as competition to doctors. https://buff.ly/45lVq5u For the 58% of our users who come from rural communities, as well as those in underserved urban and suburban communities, going to the doctor is not a straightforward decision. The same applies to those with neurological and gynecological conditions who come back to us after visits with multiple providers, feeling dismissed and unheard by the healthcare system. See how we help people make sense of their health, decide to seek medical care when appropriate, and better prepare for their appointments. #HealthNews #HealthInnovations

🌟 **Supporting Rural Health with AI!** https://buff.ly/3Vssaqh At MDandMe, we understand that for many, the choice isn't between our AI and a real doctor—it's between our AI and being alone in their health struggles. - **58%** of our users are from rural areas, where access to healthcare is limited. Nationally, only **15-20%** of the U.S. population lives in rural areas. - We proudly serve users in rural Montana, Texas, Alaska, and everywhere in between. Our AI helps users brainstorm health concerns and directs them to doctors when necessary, ensuring they get the most out of their appointments. Among our community users, neurological, rheumatoid, and OB-GYN concerns are prevalent. The impact? Identifying high-risk symptoms and helping users realize the need for medical care. **72%** use MDandMe to decide whether or not to seek care, and **27%** switch to choosing care after using our platform. “MDandMe made me realize that I needed medical care, and it also helped me understand where to start when talking to a doctor in real life.” 🩺 Join us in making healthcare more accessible and supportive! #HealthTech #AI #RuralHealth #PatientSupport #DigitalHealth #Telemedicine #HealthcareInnovation #HealthEquity #ChronicIllness #CommunityHealth #HealthJourney #MedicalAI

Where would be a good source for finding folks with clinical experience to do text annotations? As tens of thousands of people have used our GenAI chatbot (https://mdme.ai) to talk through their medical concerns we're constantly using these conversations to improve our system. A big roadblock right now is getting clinical annotations to help figure out the ground truth in understanding patient intents and structured data, as well as preferences on order of questions asked, phrasing, etc. These annotation tasks require a level of medical expertise, but don't need the full training of a US-based MD. At my previous company we used a team of India-based MDs, but I don't think we're yet at a place where we can hire and manage a permanent off-shore team. Would love to learn how other folks have been solving this problem!

Few would want to spend 11 hours waiting in the emergency room if they knew the same condition could be treated within 11 minutes at urgent care. Even fewer would want to stay home while having a silent heart attack. Information in healthcare is key, but too often information is inconvenient, inaccurate, or expensive. We believe healthcare should operate on your terms. We believe it can with the help of technology. Enter MD&Me (https://mdme.ai), a conversation with an AI chatbot that converts your own words into clinical symptoms and possible diagnoses. Think of MD&Me as the first place to go when something is off. This isn't a checklist or a search bar; it's a conversation. A dialogue that flows through text or voice, just like the familiar flow of talking with a doctor. It's intuitive, it's responsive. It asks, it listens. After gathering important information about your symptoms, we use it to construct a clear picture of what might be happening with you. Then we guide you through the next steps – what can be done for a formal diagnosis and treatment. Finally, we explain where you can get appropriate care and why. To us, MD&Me isn’t just a technology. It’s a shift in how we approach healthcare. One where patients are provided knowledge to make maximally informed decisions about their health whenever and wherever they want.
