Teamwork! - Yet another component to a safety culture. Concrete pump trucks, hoses, communication, PPE, elevated platforms, housekeeping, they all form together for unique situations. Teamwork ensures everyone is doing their part. #ChallengeAccepted

Training = Safety We all know that part of safety is training. Those training classes come in a variety of forms. Some are complex with large crowds, media equipment, catered meals, function halls, well, you know what we are talking about. Other trainings are more simple, more personable, a more relaxed environment some may say. These would be called site specific orientation. They are very specific to a project and they allow much more communication to take place as they cover a variety of topics. Taking the time to train at a project level allows you to be fully engaged in those site hazards. #ChallengeAccepted

There’s more than one way to take a bridge down. For our recent project on 295, our Demolition division was tasked with carefully removing each beam making up the old overpass. Utilizing a mobile crane and some torches, they were able to safely and efficiently pick it apart piece by piece. As part of National Construction Safety week, we’d also like to recognize the crews efforts on this one. Using tag lines to control suspended loads, proper PPE while burning, and working to ensure traffic patterns and lane closures are in place to create a safe work space for both the crew and general public. #safety #constructionsafetyweek #challengeaccepted Eric Jumper - Construction Safety Week

In the past, we have discussed the “chaos” perception with dismantling. Well, we are here today to focus on the precision side of dismantling. When we review the engineers plans, they are very specific in weight calculations, cut lines, and rigging points. When you add in that all this takes place over water, that adds a whole other element of planning. All of these details are started in the office with field input, they are executed in the field. Taking the time to review these details every day ensures our crews have the best knowledge of the operation. Adding this task specific knowledge to their experience, and coupled with a #ChallengeAccepted attitude, there is not much our Demolition Division cannot accomplish in a safe and efficient manner. Safety starts and ends with our people. Construction Safety Week
