Restoring Hope, Rebuilding Lives
About us
International Relief Teams is a nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to alleviating human suffering by providing vulnerable communities access to basic needs such as food, water, sanitation, and shelter. When a disaster strikes, IRT identifies an appropriate response to leverage donor resources for maximum impact. Responses often include providing food, water, shelter, sanitation and hygiene solutions, as well as medicines. During the recovery phase, IRT provides construction materials and rebuilds homes by hiring local labor and deploying skilled construction teams. International Relief Teams also builds healthy communities in developing countries. Investing in communities and ensuring people’s health and safety has a monumental impact. Healthy communities are more resilient in the face of environmental crises and better equipped to adapt to changing conditions; building healthy communities often includes adopting sustainable living practices, which have a positive overall impact on the environment. For the last 35 years, we have deployed more than 7,500 volunteers and provided $674 million in food, medicines, relief supplies, and volunteer services to families in need in 76 countries worldwide. Our work could not be done without the help of our incredible partners, dedicated volunteers, and gracious donors. The Lopez-Santiago family finally has a home. Rosa and Rufino moved their family to San Quintin in search of a brighter future. But as their family grew, their tiny home made of wood boards, plastic tarp, and unsteady planks became a struggle. Winters were bitterly cold, summers scorching hot. International Relief Teams knew they needed more than just a bigger space. They needed a safe haven. We built them a home that would weather any storm, a place for Rosa to watch her granddaughter take her first steps, and a space big enough for 11 hearts to make a lifetime of memories. #nonprofit #homebuild #SanQuintin #Mexico #InternationalReliefTeams
