There have been at least seven confirmed cases of misidentification due to the use of facial recognition technology in the U.S., six of which involve Black people who have been wrongfully accused.

Innocence Project client Marcellus Williams has been on death row for over 23 years for a murder he didn’t commit. The Missouri Supreme Court has scheduled his execution for Sept. 24, despite DNA proving his innocence.
