July 3, 2024, marks nine years of business for GMA! Thank you to our trusted partners, collaborators, and team members who have contributed to our firm's exponential growth in a short period of time. Join us in revisiting just some of the many project highlights along the way as we celebrate today by reflecting on the journey and gearing up for the future. From day one to today, our focus has been the mission: #developingPEOPLE and #transformingCOMMUNITIES. Nine incredible years of positive impact on the communities in which we work, and we are just getting started!

The Turner Paschen Aviation Partners (TPAP) successfully delivered another critical enabling project for the O’Hare 21 Program. This spring, we successfully commissioned the Lower C Concourse (LCE) gates connected to Terminal 1, Concourse C. The project reconfigured Gate C10 and relocated gates C4, C6, and C8 – opening the footprint for the upcoming Satellite 1. Additionally, this project achieved several noteworthy diverse and capacity-building goals. ✅ 32% of the work was completed by MBE & WBE firms. ✅ Two new first-time primes to ORD. Congratulations to Powers & Sons Construction and Specialty Construction on the successful completion of your projects! ✅ One Small Business Initiative (SBI) Trade Package – Specialty Construction, LLC. ✅ All Trade Packages were led by either an MBE, SBI or a Minority-owned firm. On June 14th, GMA and The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western broke ground on the renovation of Island Terrace Apartments, an important affordable housing preservation project in the Woodlawn neighborhood. I can fondly remember, as a kid, taking our summer trip to downtown Chicago. Although we lived on the Westside and later in Cabrini Green visiting downtown Chicago was considered a vacation and only happened once a year during the Taste of Chicago. The approval of the LaSalle street cooridor and 79 W Monroe projects will increase affordable housing units in the loop by 1,000%. Providing both Market Rate and Affordable units, the playing field is being leveled and quality housing will be available to all income classes regardless of race. This type of investment will have a major impact on lower income households and could become the catalyst for shrinking generational wealth gaps within these families. Children on the south and west sides will no longer have to visit the loop they will live there!
