Developed by a team of researchers from HKUST(GZ) and Tencent AI Lab, SEED-Story leverages a Multimodal Large Language Model (MLLM) to produce rich, coherent narratives interspersed with high-quality images. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐒𝐄𝐄𝐃-𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐈𝐭 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞? ✔ Multimodal Attention Sink Mechanism: This technique allows the model to generate long sequences of text and images efficiently. By maintaining a sliding window on the most recent tokens, SEED-Story can generate up to 30 sequences, far beyond the 10 sequences used during training. ✔Visual Tokenization and De-tokenization: To generate images that match the narrative text, SEED-Story uses a pre-trained Vision Transformer (ViT) as a visual tokenizer. This tokenizer converts images into features that the model can process. ✔Efficient Training with StoryStream Dataset: SEED-Story is trained on StoryStream, a large-scale, high-resolution dataset derived from animated videos. StoryStream contains sequences of narrative-rich texts and intriguing images, making it an ideal resource for training and evaluating multimodal story generation. SEED-Story is a significant advancement in the field of AI-generated content. By combining the strengths of large language models and vision transformers, it opens up new possibilities for creating rich, immersive stories that blend text and images seamlessly.
