This charming sequel to Before the Coffee Gets Cold complements the first volume beautifully. Its tone matches that of its predecessor, treating of sorrow and comfort with a gentle touch. This book expands the world of the first one, explaining a bit more about the way that the magic works, and giving more background on the main characters, and developing them as they grow and change. I am relieved to report that this book does not fall into the trap of over-explaining; it maintains the air of mystery and keeps the tales feeling fresh. Delightful.
