** spoiler alert ** What. Did. I. Just. Finish. Reading?!

What was Fitzgerald thinking when he wrote this?!

I am so not satisfied. The story was too short. Many things needed many more explanations...

The characters were built in a way that I could like none... I mean
1. Gatsby was mysterious, polite (even in the worst of events) and always smiling.
A newly-rich young man who had no one (ABSOLUTELY NO ONE) but his father Mr. Gatz and Mr. Carraway attending his FUNERAL!!
2. Tom Buchanan was a based-on-science rich white racist and a well-built kind of a cheating husband.
3. Daisy Buchanan had a family but she still longed for Gatsby and she preferred to go with him in the car than to go with her Tom. No. I said she cared for Gatsby? No. She did NOT. His death was indifferent for her.
4. Jordan Baker (I thought Jordan was a boy's name until I read this) was... What was she? Let me say that she enjoyed Gatsby's big parties and enjoyed hanging around with Nick.
5. Nick Carraway was the only one to blame for all of this. He could've convinced Tom not to keep cheating on Daisy (Why did Tom cheat anyways?), and could've just not arranged that meeting between the old lovers in his house... I don't care how much he admired Gatsby... He should've put an end to it all... He was there whenever something happened...

I really thought that a book that starts with

‘Whenever you feel like criticizing any one,’he told me,‘just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had.’

should be very satisfying. I am not fulfilled. Ugh!!

Still, I should never overlook the beautiful writing style and the elegance in which Fitzgerald chose his words!!

I need to read it some other time. I need to.
