The standard tropes pretty much suffice for character development and for a tale where the triumph depends on the laws of physics there is less accuracy here than a nerd would expect but as a fantasy tale, that's fine. It should also be mentioned that this tale features unprotected sex; but it is a fantasy, and both guys claim to be virgins. So perhaps one of those fantasies is one's ability to accept the word of a stranger.
One other niggle here... the guy pictured on the cover is beautiful. Too beautiful to be the nerd described in the text and that's the only character wearing a towel in this tale. Nitpickers may pick away but if you're just along for the fun-ride, enjoy.
This is actually short for even a short story... It might be more aptly termed a literary amuse-bouche. At just over 30 pages there's not really enough here to really judge the author's skill but they ARE pretty much able to tell a tale without getting in the the way too much. And I've an appetite for something more substantial next time.

Ready for a bed-time story? How about three of them? Each involves that most common of gay fantasies, a curious straight guy. This is a collection of Ready for a bed-time story? How about three of them? Each involves that most common of gay fantasies, a curious straight guy. This is a collection of steamy stories and is clearly more erotic fiction than romantic lit. Still, they’re fun to read and there’s already a second volume out. As to “Bros with Benefits”… Gotta admit that this is the first time I’ve ever encountered the term “bro-job.” It’s amazing what one learns in college. In “The Jockstrap Thief” we meet a fresh frosh who knows what he wants and makes a deal to get it. And in “Sweet Release” we meet a freshman living away from home for the first time who learns something about himself he didn’t expect when he’s disturbed by his new neighbor’s midnight pining.
Don’t expect any in-depth character creation. This type of writing relies on giving the broad outlines and leaving enough ambiguity so you can color in the salacious details as you best see fit. Also, since these tales involve first-timers don’t expect anything too sophisticated as to bedroom antics.
At an average of 15 pages each, these tales might be termed bite-sized, but a better term might be “bate-sized.” In this case 3 sessions at least.

These short stories are one man's attempt to prove length isn't everything. For short stories with such clear readable prose, there's some stiff going ahead for anyone who immerses himself in these tales.
This is erotic fiction involving one of the most ubiquitous fantasy tropes in M/M fiction, straight guys on the cusp due to curiosity. If you like stories about opening up new horizons, redefining childhood friendships, some COVID induced curiosity, or just crusty sweat socks, this might be the collection for you.
There's not a lot of mechanistic "place tab A in slot B" style action, instead the author has some efficacy with allusion, and a randy sense of fun; good-clean, and the other kind.

Jerry’s already ticked off an airline pilot, a gymnast and a bicycle racer before setting his sights on a reputedly easy Texas surfer boy. However when Jerry meets the lad, we find that there’s a bit more than meets his profile.
At only 17 pages one expects this to be simply a calling card. “Free-samples” are a great way to interest readers unfamiliar with an author’s work, or to introduce characters that may be the basis for an entire series. This author accomplishes that in spades. He manages to do more than just spin an erotic tale. These characters felt fully realized and they were both charming enough that you immediately enjoy their company. The sex is enjoyable, but meeting these two young guys, even more so. It does make me wish there were more, and even suggests what that more might be.
Apparently this was also included in the author’s short story collection, The Boy Can’t Help It. So, perhaps I’ll check that out soon.

There were a few references to the first book, but they seemed very minor, and starting with the second book affected my enjoyment of this series not at all. In fact, given what I enjoy in my reading, I'm guessing that reading 2 before 1, will actually add to my overall enjoyment of both. Sometimes it's OK to eat dessert first.
What I expected to find was a somewhat dark revenge fantasy. What I did find was excellent storytelling and excellent writing in one package. This was billed as a revenge fantasy but it quickly turned into much more, there is revenge but there's also a plot-line involving empathy, personal growth, self awareness, and self acceptance. The story revolves around a body-switch curse, but it seemed to be more of a blessing than a curse. As I read more, I wasn't sure whether I wanted them to swap back, or not. It seemed that each of the main character's personalities were more at home in their post-curse bodies than in the ones that nature had given them. Reflecting on that, and how it might mirror the sense of relief and “ultimate rightness” post op transsexuals might feel, gave me an increase in empathy in that area as well.
The sex here was the hottest I've read in a long time. Given the initial revenge aspect, the dirty, raunchy aspects of the initial sexual encounters are somehow made more acceptable, and given that each is temporarily inhabiting the other's body, the dominance and submission aspects are rendered a lot less ominous. The BDSM aspects of the sex here was some of the most organically justified by the story that I've ever read.
And not only were my lustful expectations for this fulfilled. The empathy aspects of the book, each character seeing the world from another's perspective was incredibly satisfying as well. It truly is harder to hate those we really understand.
Now that I've read book 2, I really am more looking forward to going back to read book 1. Having not read book 1 yet, I'm not sure it matters all that much which you feel most comfortable starting with. I just advise that you pick one up and start.

This is the literary equivalent of sex in the stalls. It's not got enough character development to be called a one night stand, but it's direct, hot, and perfectly captures the "voice" of the newly "gay for pay" jock boy Cash.
Of course this kind of thing might become addictive and there are four books in this series... Consider this a free sample. Turns out... Sex Sells! ...more

They say that thirty days hath September, well 31 pages hath this e-book. And yet that’s enough for veteran author Keegan Kennedy to cram in a set-up, three blowjobs, and a bit more. Don’t look for much character development in this tale. This is primarily erotic fiction.
This is about as “slow burn,” as lighter fluid. And while the character building is minimal, it relies on the stereotypes of the trope to make for a fast and satisfying read. Again, it’s a free read so you can’t go wrong with the price, and I found it well worth the reading time. I’d not recommend this type of thing as a steady diet, but as a sorbet for the hormones, it’s all good.

This short novella is not “dinner and a movie.” This is more “let’s meet at the motel and get off.” It’s the standard tale where a geeky narrator takes on his high-school tormentor, and they both get what they want. This is a fast, fun, piece of friction fiction, what I used to call “one handed reading.”
In this story a journalist, shall we call him “deep throat?” Goes for a penetrating story featuring his former tormentor. Even without “going under-cover” he gets what he came for.
In this antithesis of a “slow burn,” the characterization is minimal, but relies on the stereotypes of the trope. The action is almost non-stop, the plot development is almost non-existent, and yet, it makes for a satisfying read. As a free read it’s worth more than twice the price, as well as the reading time. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a steamy change of pace.

Corruption - ThSince this audiobook is a triptych of three previously released novellas It's probably appropriate to feature three mini-plot reviews:
Corruption - Though the year is never made clear, this tale has a bleak, 1940's “noir” feel that is evocative of the HBO series Carnivàle. Charles Grimes's is a demon hunter. As a Demi-angel his wings never seemed to really work, and at 18 he'd had them surgically removed. Other parts of his biology are tougher to conceal. A non smoking, abstemious, vegan because of his biology, Charles is tasked with finding and eliminating a demon reported to be on display at a traveling carny in Kansas. What he finds is a group of hucksters profiting by pedaling the right to “punish” & debase perhaps the most appealing creature Charles has ever encountered. Can Charles really destroy a creature who is so alluring and has been through so much hell already? Though the most graphic of the BDSM is described at a remove, the tangential action alone is hot enough to make this a one-handed read.
Clay White - In this modern era San Francisco based tale, burly Clay has been fired from the bureau but still feels he must stop a killing spree in San Francisco. When officials from the Bureau refuse to help him catch the killer, he turns to the aid of another ex-Bureau operative for backup. But can a demi-angel and his demon partner aid a disgraced, and all too human, bureau operative, with the aid of a surprisingly supportive vampire, take on a Silicon Valley monster charming enough to make the Bureau uninterested in stopping him? It was very satisfying to catch up with the couple we met in book one and to meet yet another “agent” with a taste for a supernaturally sexy denizen of the underworld. Though the sexual content in this tale is slightly more subdued than in the first tale, it's still... to slightly paraphrase Sam Spade “the stuff of wet dreams.”
Creature - in this early 50s era tale, Harry Low applied to join the Bureau but they weren't interested. Months after their refusal, when given this second-chance “trial assignment,” Harry has to question the nature of just what (and who) are the real monsters. The “monster” in this tale is a captive, possibly innocent, though we and the “monster” have no knowledge of what came before. Initially repulsive and hideous, as the creature is treated humanely, it becomes more human. Though never afforded much decency or love himself, Harry seems incapable of treating the creature inhumanely and that compassion soon begins to affect them both. This is the longest and perhaps the sweetest of the tales and at spots it's a tear-jerker. Consequently the graphic sex here is more limited than in either of the other two tales but the story will probably remain with me longer.
Oscar Wilde said 'Each Man kills the thing he loves.” And the cynical, outcast heroes in these tales are all killers. What they have in common is their down at the heels competence, and their “little left to lose” outlooks. What makes these stories compelling is the empathy that the reader gains when parts of each tale are told from the “monster's” point of view. While this format demands the reader consider... “just what makes a monster?” That ethical dilemma doesn't get in the way of the hot sexual nature of these tales. If hot action, and the allure of the “forbidden” appeals to you; and if you're open to reading of captivity, punishment, bondage, and pain mixed with pleasure, then this is a book for you. If you liked the movies Chinatown and the Maltese Falcon and if you're also a sucker for underdogs & tales of redemption, so much the better.
Narrator Joel Leslie projects a gruff, resigned, world weary quality to his voice that works amazingly well with the tales and characters he's presenting. His resignation alone, evokes much of the noir aspect of these tales, before the events even fully unfold. After hearing this, I'm even more curious to hear more of the wide variety of tales he's lent voice to.
