However, I thought Kitty's transformation from silly girl, soldier-chaser to intelligent and sweet, mature husband-pleaser happened altogether too abruptly. The writer made her into a Lizzy Bennet (Darcy) clone, or so it seemed to me. I liked the twist with Anne and Alfred. It was my favorite part of the book actually. I am glad that fan fiction writers are giving Anne a voice now!
I am considering reading the rest of the books in this series. Okay, I will read them. It's only a matter of when....more

They're quick reads that can be devoured in mere hours, as they were intended to be. I liked this book. Grayson was a nice hero (for some reason I kept picturing a young Kevin Sorbo for his looks) and the heroine Mel (who tells the story in first person) wasn't too bad to read about either. The love scenes were pretty mild compared to some romance novels I've read, but still, nice to read about. I felt this couple really genuinely connected. It wasn't just lust between them though of course it started that way. I would probably read another book by this authoress....more

I felt bad for the protagonist Maria - caught between her two (in my opinion) selfish parents and their worlds. I was hoping this book would draw me in like "The House on Mango Street" by Sandra Cisneros has, but it didn't. I felt glad when I finished reading it. It was written in a very lyrical, poetic style and I did like that about it....more
