As we know from Greg Stones's first breakout hit book, zombies hate stuff. It's less understood that the undead also struggle with the stuff of everyday life usually navigated by the breathing. Zombies have issues with yoga, bad hair days, chopsticks, the morning commute, touch-screen technology, and more. They kind of enjoy skunks, gardening, and acupuncture, but they have major issues with banana peels, Renaissance fairs, bear traps, and bunnies. In the face of such adversity, all zombies really want is a cure. With humor, wit, and braaaains, Greg Stones's colorful painted panels offer a sympathetically funny, new perspective into the trials and tribulations of the undead in a world made for the living.
Overview: Zombies Have Issues talk about the issues that zombies face in everyday life. The things they like and what they really want deep down.
Thoughts: I like how simple this book was. It wasn't hard to read at all, it was short yet sweet and the art got to the point but it wasn't over the top which was cool.
This whole book was funny and humorous and especially the ending which I won't be saying in case people are wanting to read it.
I like how the book didn't just focus on what zombies have issues with only but also focused on what they like as well! And also what they are wanting from life. It kind of gave zombies a personality which was interesting to me!
Overall this was a very cute book!
If you would like to donate to the Zombie Foundation and donate a brain it would be very appreciated.
Ah even more funny things with zombies!! I love it from beginning to the very last cute page! Not only did the zombies have issues with things, but i learned the things they loved, and things they hated the most... always funny and very informative (you know if we have a zombie apocalypse!).
Generally I find all things zombie pretty hilarious...but this just didn't do it for me. I think the first pictures of a dog peeing on a zombie cracked me up, but other than that... meh.
This is a 3 minute read. Which I don't hold against it.
I finished it looking for positives. I guess that if this was made into a book of postcards and twenty years ago then it would have a purpose. It isn't particularly funny or cute in its design. It labours a joke that wasn't funny to start with.
It is probably perfect for someone who prefers repetitive memes to books. It lacks substance in more than one sense of the word.
Zombies Have Issues is a quick fun read for Zombie Awareness Month in May. It's funny and it has great illustrations. I highly recommend reading this book. Also it would make an excellent gift for a zombie fan.
I think I was expecting a little more from this one. Really it was just a picture book of zombies doing random things poorly. Not many of the pictures made me laugh, the exception being the zombie water skiing and having her arms fall off! I prefer Edward Gorey style dark humor, so maybe I missed what was funny about this one. Or maybe it just really wasn't very funny. Either way, I only dedicated about 5 minutes of my life to this book so I don't feel too worked up about it!
This was a book from the Trick or Treat display. Quick 5 min read. Very cute, but I am trying to understand how it can come from the Nonfiction section when it is a book about Zombies....
5/20/23 - Passed by a shelf and this caught my eye. I remembered reading it and thought it was cute. Found a few others so picked them all up. I still am trying to figure out how this can be in the Nonfiction section.....
Hm, cute idea and I love my Zombies, but when I flipped through this I was a disappointed. I don't think I chuckled once which is a bit my requirement for funny 2-minutes books with mostly pictures. Something didn't quite hit the nerve here, Zombies' likes, dislikes and issues should be funnier. There were one or two pages that made me start a smile but that is not enough.
