Blood Fae Druid #3

Bad Girls Break Bridges

Rate this book
Some bridges are meant to be broken.

Lane Callaghan finally has something to celebrate. Not only did she land a mate who looks stellar in denim, she fulfilled her contract with the sun fae and locked a deadly, dark prince behind bars in the process. To toast her freedom from the realm of Eodrom, Lane, her sisters, and their best gal pals head out for a night on the town.

As expected, the music is loud, the drinks flow, and the snack bowls are bottomless. What they didn’t expect was the moonbit werewolf stripper who turns the party into a bloodbath, but maybe they should have. While Lane and her sisters have been focused on fae drama, human paranormals, werewolves in particular, have been succumbing to a rare infection, and their good friend Zee fears she’s next.

At last, Lane has a case closer to home. Or so she thinks, until Fate arrives to dispense a dire warning that the subterfuge in the fae realm of Ta’Vale isn’t over, and it’s closer to Lane than she thinks. In fact, it might have everything to do with the reason she ran from home all those years ago.

S.L. Choi is an urban fantasy author with a deep love for humor, fast-paced action, and hit-you-in-the-heart feels. She grew up imagining goblins living in the rocks outside her bedroom window, while fairies flew through the flowers. Now she puts those stories to paper. When not writing, she is either photographing the beautiful New England area, hiking, gaming with her equally nerdy husband, or attending to the small furry overlord who rules them both.

I really enjoyed this book! This is the third book in the Blood Fae Druid series and I feel like I have been on quite the journey with Lane, her sisters, and Teddy. This is a series that should definitely be read in order since the characters’ growth over the course of the series is important to the plot. This book had all of the action and excitement that I have come to expect from this entertaining series.

This book opens with a bang when Lane finds herself dealing with a werewolf that appears to have been moonbit. She feels like she needs to get to the bottom of what is really going on. I loved seeing her work with her grandfather and it was fun to see her making a few new connections as well. I especially enjoyed the scenes that Lane shared with Teddy. Their relationship is really solid and I loved the way they were able to support one another. The story definitely kept me guessing and there was plenty of excitement along the way.

I would definitely recommend this book to others. This has been a very entertaining series featuring some pretty kick-ass characters that I have grown to love over the series. I cannot wait to read more of this talented author’s work.

I received a review copy of this book from City Owl Press.

Though this story was written with eloquence and grace by S.L.Choi published by City Owl Press Books, this can not be read as a stand alone book. However, do not get me wrong this is an AMAZING READ. The story centers in a supernatural word with a blend of creatures created from the mind of this author. It covers so many creatures and fae that go bump in the night that I lost track,

This story is about a young women blood fae who fancied herself a night out on the town, but instead it turned to something more sinister. She was then thrust back into the home she never wanted to return back to.

This premise alone drew me into this read. The author did a wonderful job with bringing the reader into her universe that she created. This read allows the reader to fully immersed themselves into this fantastical world that was created. I would love love LOVE to read more from this author. I would definitely need a prequel or sequel to this books.

Thank you SL Choi and City Owl Press for this early ecopy.
“Bad Girls Break Bridges” (Blood Fae Druid #3) by SL Choi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Genre: Urban Fantasy. Locations: Fae lands, mortal lands, in-between. Time: Alternative present.

THE SERIES: In the fae city of Eodrom, Lane Callaghan was called an abomination. After an assassination attempt, she left for good, starting YML Investigations with her sisters in the Las Vegas, Nevada area. The 3 Sisters:
*Lane (hybrid blood fae/druid) 5 ft tall, 1 black eye, 1 violet eye, 2 hearts, fangs, dark auburn hair. Fierce knife fighter.
*Mae (sun fae) 6 ft tall, golden skin/hair, blue eyes, can “charm the pelt from a werewolf”.
*Y’sindra (snow fairy) 3 ft tall, her wings shed snow, white curls, smart-mouthed.
In previous books, Lane found her mate in Teddy the shadow shifter bar owner (aka sugar buns) and moved her family to the Las Vegas penthouse in her druid great+ grandfather’s Blackthorne Casino.

THIS BOOK: (Author Choi saved the best for this last book!) Lane, sisters, and friends are all about the music, drinks, and acts at the casino’s Taboo show until a moonbit werewolf turns it into a bloodbath. Lane learns corrupted moon fae are plotting evil, and unknown sun fae are involved. Mae’s connection to the sun stones strengthens, Y’sindra’s chopped off wing grows back, and she and tiny, shadow shifter Lo regularly disappear. “What the seven layers of bean dip is going on?”

Choi has written a tight, fast-moving book full of twisty dialogue with great world-building and character-building, a complicated plot, and a kick-ass main character. She creates a snarky, loving found family who will ‘ride or die’ for each other. Choi gives us heat again with Lane and Teddy, and makes Lane seem shy, sweet, and lusty all at the same time. As famed author Kim Harrison says about this series: “If you like ‘The Hollows’, you will love this.” I love “The Hollows”, I love this, I couldn’t put it down, and it’s 5 stars from me!🌵📚💁🏼‍♀️”

This is the third book in the Blood Fae Druid. I enjoy reading the first 2 books and this one did not disappoint and this meets my expectations. I devour this book in one sitting.

This is the Author's 3rd ( and possibly final book ?? ) in her Blood Fae series and in my opinion cannot be read as a standalone - reading the previous books is necessary to understand the characters and their place in this world .

Lane and her sisters are celebrating their latest victory with what they love the most - drinks , dancing and music .......... when a a moonlit werewolf stripper suddenly turns his act into a bloodbath - what happened to make him act this way ?
Lane realises that perhaps they have dropped the ball by not realising that other paranormals have been succumbing to a rare infection - one with possible repercussions closer to home than she would like
Hoping that at last they have a case closer to home Lane starts to investigate but her hopes are soon dashed by the arrival of Fate - is her past coming back to haunt her ?

This is another highly entertaining , fast paced , paranormal fantasy , immersing the reader in a world where relationships are the backbone of the story .
The Author manages to bring together all the mini arcs from the previous books to provide us with a finale well worth waiting for
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

This series of books have been nothing short of incredible. They're full tilt action, emotional but in the good way, fun filled, and funny as all get out. Then you throw in all of the fantasy and paranormal aspects, and I couldn't be happier.

Laney and her sisters have become like a really twisted (but in a good way) part of my book family. I love all the other characters too like Teddy, Zee, Blackthorne, Dexter, and so many others. I have loved watching them all develop and become who they were meant to be.

So many twists and turns in this one! It was like a giant roller coaster throughout the entire book, and I love that! From the first hairy moment (pun intended for those that have read the book) to the ending, I have just enjoyed this book so much!

A possible spoiler alert here: The ending was written like it was going to be the last book in the series. I truly hope not! If it is, please bring them back!! And if you can't then maybe possibly a spin off series? I would read that! I have completely loved all three books. These are books that you will want to re-read over and over again. I recommend a hundred percent.

Thanks to Net Galley, the publishers, and to S.L. Choi for the ability to read and review this book. All opinions are mine and mine alone and are completely honest.

How do you wrap up a trilogy? You find all the little story arcs and callbacks people forgot they wanted to know about, and generously sprinkle the answers in with the rest of the storyline. Add in a final boss twist and unexpected hero arc and you’ve got this one. I really enjoyed this series and part of me wants more stories set in this world with these characters. But, at the same time, I like where this ended. All the main points were wrapped up, the characters got their happy endings ( for now or for ever…) and we ended in a quiet moment after the last great conflict. If you’re looking for a new adventure, start at book one, and add this author to your go to list. I’ll be sure to look for more stories from this author in the future.

SL Choi knocks it completely out of the park with this triology! The storyline and depth of character development in Bad Girls Breaks Bridges is phenomenal, and it’s an amazing, tantalizing read. Highly recommend!!!

Lane, Mae and Y’sindra embark on yet another adventure that unfolds past and present into an intricate web of deceit, plot twists, and some incredible page turning reveals…..”Someone will die because of you. Someone will also live.”

Choi’s writing style pulls you into the heart of the storyline effortlessly from the beginning…heart pounding thrills, breath taking moments and some firm tugs on the heart strings. I found myself blissfully lost in Lane’s world and unable to put this page turner down. Straight to favorites!

This is book 3 in the Blood Fae Druied Series. These books are meant to be read in order as there is one continuous plot line.

Man o' man...... I am so sad this series is over. Through the series you meet and fall in love with so many of the characters. Their sense of protection and familiar bonds is what makes this series so special. So many things have occurred throughout the story and each page I found myself becoming melancholy because I did not want it to end. This last book gives us everything and more. Lane showed a more sensitive side to her usual bada$$ness, the sisters love for each other showed no weakness nor showed any sigs of breaking and the twists and turns had me reeling with the last 30% of the book. Lane and Teddy give me relationship goals and Lane is still the snarky gal that makes me laugh with her sarcastic comments and banter. I just don't want to say goodbye. I did find myself shedding a tear or 2 but I am hoping this is truly not the end but we will see. Author S.L. Choi is an amazing paranormal romance writer and I will forever be grateful that she sent me her first book. As this series comes to an end, I find myself looking towards the future and hopefully many more books from his author. Thank you S. L. Choi for being amazing, generous and an all around amazing writer.... I give this one 5 stars

I just finished this book, and I’m so very sad. I want more in this universe, and this is the last one. But I think there is so much more to be told. Anyway, there is so much going on in this series ender. Lane, Teddy, and everyone else is trying to find out who or what is causing the moonbit paranormals, and this leads them on a merry chase. This is filled with action, secrets, twists, and a little sadness. Again, I think there is more to tell, but I’ll still follow this author wherever she goes. LOL! Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

One of the best UF series I have read in a long time!

This book was the ultimate culmination of everything I was hoping this series would be! It’s snarky, laugh out loud funny, action packed, and even has some great spice! The world the author has built is completely unique and I sincerely did not want to leave it. The family dynamic of the sisters just adds something amazing to an already great story! Loved it!
