Climate Solutions and Sustainable Finance

ESG Company Reported

Access unparalleled breadth and depth of coverage across 15,000 companies in over 100 countries, including as-reported data, derived ratios and sector-and country-specific fields going back to 2006.

Sustainable Debt

In a world with evolving regulatory requirements, Bloomberg simplifies discovery and access for sustainable debt instruments across asset types with this dataset and labeling system.

ESG Scores

Bloomberg provides a variety of proprietary scores that investors can use to assess company or government disclosure and performance on a wide range of ESG and thematic issues. Bloomberg’s ESG and thematic scores can integrate into company research and portfolio construction.

Carbon Emissions

This dataset provides scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions estimates and company reported data for over 130,000 global public and private companies. Where company provided data is not available, Bloomberg provides estimates based on either a machine-learning smart model or an industry-implied model to increase the scope of companies covered and thus provide a more complete picture of emissions.

Implied Temperature Rise Metrics

This data provides a science-based framework to assess how the projected emissions of a company, or carbon targets, translates into an implied temperature rise. Investors can use the metrics to measure the temperature rise alignment to specific climate objectives, and to engage with companies on setting actionable emissions reduction targets.

Climate Risk Exposure Indicators

Quantify climate-related physical risk exposure across all IPCC scenarios. Our solution uses company, ESG, climate change and facilities data in order to build comprehensive, trustworthy assessments. The physical risk exposure indicators cover just under 50,000 companies, and can be referenced for reporting on climate-related risks, in line with the recommendations from TCFD, the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards and the CSRD.

European Banking Authority Pillar 3 Climate Risk

The EBA’s complex disclosure requirement can be tackled with this solution that helps banks apply Bloomberg’s Carbon, ESG, EU Taxonomy, Sustainable Debt and Facilities data to the 10 templates.

Government Climate Scores

To look at a government or region’s preparedness for the transition to a lower-carbon world, this dataset provides details on carbon reduction, power sector transition progress and climate policies.

Regulatory Reporting and Compliance

EU Taxonomy

Bloomberg’s EU Taxonomy data solution uses a transparent methodology to automate the complex five-step process to determine EU Taxonomy alignment of companies’ activities and by extension investments in those companies. Bloomberg’s dataset includes both company reported EU Taxonomy data and estimates that closely adhere to regulatory specification on over 50,000 companies globally.

Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation

Bloomberg helps investment firms with SFDR reporting, in particular the challenging disclosure of Principal Adverse Impact (PAI) indicators for which many corporations do not disclose meaningful data. Bloomberg combines coverage of SFDR’s mandatory and voluntary PAIs with both company-specific carbon emissions estimates and our high-quality ESG fundamentals data.

European ESG Template

Bloomberg also supports product manufacturers populating the EET template by providing transparency to the underlying ESG data fields required for reporting. To help banks tackle the complete EBA Pillar 3 Climate Risk disclosure requirements, Bloomberg applies its Carbon, ESG, EU Taxonomy, Sustainable Debt and Facilities data to the 10 templates streamlining timely processes.
