Publisher's Summary

Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court - but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people. Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court.

As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms - and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future - and the future of a world cleaved in two.

With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas' masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

Disclaimer: The first 7 or so ... read full below

"Not consort. Not wife. Fayre is high lady of the court. My equal in every way. She would wear my crown. Sit on a throne beside mine. Never sidelined, never designated to breeding and parties and child rearing. My queen."

I had come across the plot of this 2nd book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series and was horrified. I was sure I would hate the book, the forced plot twists, and the unconvincing character developments — yes, I was wrong and I'm so giddy from having read an AMAZING book!

I wouldn't say more and risk giving away the whirlwind that is this storyline but I'll say this - In book 1 of this series I was not convinced of Fayre being her own person. But in this 2nd book, she truly comes into her own. And now I finally agree with the Instagram lists that insist 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' is led by a strong female protagonist.

(
Disclaimer: The first 7 or so chapters kind of seem bad... but they all fit into the right places and you are no longer reading a book that makes you roll your eyes. Although, who are these people who 'growl' and 'snarl', and give 'feline smirk' and 'lupine smile'?
)

Getting to Instagram's obsession with Chapter 55 🔥 - It's great and perfect but I did not get the hype. I mean, there're all good🥵! No hate ✌🏽

Looks like I’m going to have a long lingering after effect

Hmm.. How to and where to start!
I honestly loved ACOTAR until I read ACOMAF. And now I feel ACOTAR was so plain.. I am so stunned by this book that Feyre, Rhysand and all the other characters hovered around my mind all day till I finished up the book. This book bridges the gaps about proper descriptions of the faerie world, history and other courts that was missing in the first one of the series. All the elements of a good fantasy novel were present to make it impeccable! (I am not a critic to find those little flaws so giving it a pass) I genuinely loved the firting between Rhys and Feyre though and choked on Rhys’s pain when he told Feyre the whole story after she knows about their mating bond!!😉I can’t sing enough praises for the fantasy elements described in this book.. loved it, enjoyed it, felt it - thoroughly lived through it! The narration of Jennifer Ikeda is what made the book more alive. She changed voices and tones for every single character in this book(there are a lot of them). Commendable narration!
If you are into fantasy and romance genres then don’t think twice!
