This picked up 12 years after the tv series ended and was pitch perfect. The characters were as idiosyncratic as always and beautifully non pc. This is laugh out loud stuff with a great cast

Story
A dark midwinter’s night in an ancient inn on the Thames. The regulars are entertaining themselves by telling stories when the door bursts open on an injured stranger. In his arms is the drowned corpse of a little child. Hours later the dead girl stirs, takes a breath and returns to life. Is it a miracle? Is it magic? Or can it be explained by science? An exquisitely crafted multilayered mystery brimming with folklore, suspense and romance as well as with the urgent scientific curiosity of the Darwinian age.

Story
A wildly ambitious story of the making of a colossal, star-studded, multimillion-dollar superhero action film, and the humble comic book that inspired it all. Spanning 80 years of a changing America and culminating in the opening of the film, we meet a colourful cast of characters including a troubled soldier returning from war, a young boy with an artistic gift, an inspired and eccentric director, a pompous film star on the rise, a tireless production assistant and countless film crew members that together create Hollywood magic.

This started off slow and hokey but built to such an extent that you were invested in almost all the characters( not you, ok).
But in the meantime we were treated to a detailed exposition of the art and grunt work of filmmaking.
I wish my teachers had taught me like this.
Well done Tom and all the people that helped you on this

The time travel idea is not new but the characters and traumas are well developed. Ray porter does well as narrator but it’s essentially an English story set in England narrated in a us accent. Why?
