Summary
The Silent Quarry is the first audiobook in a series of murder mysteries featuring the perceptive but reclusive and love-shy detective DI Winter Meadows.
One morning, Gwen Thomas takes a short walk with her Siberian husky in the outskirts of the Welsh town she calls home. She is drawn to a desolate area where, some 20 years ago as a teenager, she was brutally attacked and her friend killed. Disorientated by a sudden rush of memories, she has a fall. Later, recovering in hospital, she begins to recollect the events that led up to her friend’s death.
DI Winter Meadows is encouraged to reopen what has for some time been a cold case. If Gwen can remember who attacked her, it could lead to a prosecution. But not everyone wants Gwen to recover her memory. Having got over her fall, she now faces a greater danger - from whoever else knows what actually happened.

First time of listening to this author.
The story was interesting and kept my interest until the final page. Not sure I would listen to a whole batch of them.

Good story
My kids asked me if I was listening to Fireman Sam! Jokes aside, as the story developed, I got pulled in and quite enjoyed it. Lots to keep you listening, and two good plot twist at the end. Good story.

Nice story
A who dunnit that isn't a surprise. A nice little story though.
Now, the narrator. He sounds like he's just started reading, and is running his finger along each word!
The words just don't flow together properly, which is a shame, as I know he'll spoil all the other stories to.

Decent story and great narration
It wasn’t a completely unexpected plot or plot twist near the end, but characters were decently drawn and the tale held together well enough, assisted by a great, region-appropriate voice that delivered tone and place names seamlessly and supported the story effectively.

kept me entertained throughout
A fairly easy plot. Defined characters without the excessive antagonisms that seems to have become the norm.
