Summary

Doing well with money isn’t necessarily about what you know. It’s about how you behave. And behavior is hard to teach, even to really smart people.

Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together.

In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money and teaches you how to make better sense of one of life’s most important topics.

You will learn more from this book than 1000 other

If you only listen to one book in your life this is it!
Every teenage kid should study this at school and will learn more from this than all of Shakespeare's work combined

Not rocket science

I enjoyed the calm narration of the author and there are a few golden nuggets to jot down.
It’s short, which makes a change with this type of subject and although it doesn’t pull up any trees it’s a good listen.

Insightful and informative

A good read about how major global events shapes societal behaviours, expectations and the various knock-on effects that we see in todays culture and global politics.

Easy to listen to and humorous. Some of the concepts will require me listening or reading again. I am definitely more informed as a result of listening to this audible book.

Quality book and all very relatable in today's world. Highly recommended.

Love the content and completely true what is written. Most people are heavily in debt and it's all engrained in us.

Another great eye opener.

well narrated, concise, captivating. shows how luck and risk play a key role based on history and how financial forecast never comes true most of the time.

Well put together.

The book captures and engages whilst overall pushing the narrative of index fund investing. Great story’s from the past that explain the unpredictability of todays markets.
