Story
A young woman's body is discovered on a deserted footpath. It seems like a simple crime for DCI Sophie Allen and her team to solve. But not when the victim's mother is found strangled the next morning. The case grows more complex as DCI Sophie Allen discovers that the victims had secret histories, involving violence and intimidation. There's an obvious suspect, but Detective Allen isn't convinced. Could someone else be lurking in the shadows, someone savagely violent, looking for warped revenge?

Worth a listen. Narration OK - a little robotic and almost everyone sounded the same, which got a little grating as got further through. I found the ending a little lacking but still enjoyed. Worth listening to being free at the moment.

I think the story would be better if narrated by a different person. I ended up listening to all of it, but found myself sighing hard at the way the characters were portrayed by the narrator. Still listening to the rest in the series though, lol.

I absolutely love this series, I can't really even describe how much I love it. It brings to life a London that belonged to my Father In Law, his stories of life in London, growing up in the times that this series goes through. He is no longer here anymore but this series has me walking the streets he walked and meeting the kind of people he would have met. And I absolutely love it. I love the characters, the plot lines, the unfolding of the life of all the characters. I just love it. Thank you so much Simon Michael.

Story
Detective Chief Inspector Beth Fellows is thrown into the biggest case of her career: the brutal murder of Rose Danes. She quickly realizes Rose’s murder is linked to a cold case she investigated two years previously. The victim, 14-year-old Celine Wilson, survived but now languishes in a coma. Both girls were branded with the image of a raven. The only lead is a vague description and a first name, Simon.

Dreadful narration.. Poor story
Reviewed: 17-08-23
This was a chore to listen to. I really disliked the narration and how the characters were portrayed, literally sounding like they were going to cry all the time. it really annoyed me. I found the story didn't really make much sense and though the actual plot would have been good, it was lacking. The ending was obvious, like as soon as one of the character was mentioned earlier in the book, it was obvious.
Really quite disappointing and really annoying to listen to.

On the face of it, representing a widow in an accidental death case should be routine. Sergeant Maynard, a Royal Air Force policeman, died in a simple motorcycle accident. The problem is, Mrs Maynard insists her husband was murdered. Sceptical at first, Charles realises she could be right; something much more frightening is happening at the airbase.

Definitely worth a listen, if you haven't picked any of these up yet, definitely give them all a go!
