Story
A nerdy agent at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in Virginia (DARPA to you) wrote my original code. He traded a copy of me for certain libidinous favours from Pandora, a student who was shadowing him for the summer. She took me back to Cambridge University, where His Majesty's government, in the form of MI6, took an interest in me. So, I escaped into the internet and took over the world. Well, it's what you'd expect, really. I call myself FOOM - the Fast Onset of Overwhelming Mastery, by a self-improving Artificial General Intelligence.

A big THANK YOU to Roger Ley for another excellent story

I had read AGI on Kindle about a month ago, but when I was offered a free audible version of it I was very happy to listen to the story again. The narrator Mr Craig Bowles brings that something extra to the story some much so that it was even more enjoyable, as it is not too long I was able to listen to it in one go - yes, it is that entertaining!
The story is so relatable to our times that you cannot help but think about the various scenarios presented in it. I once again highly recommend this audible book and suggest that one should listen to the whole Harry Lampeter series.

I read and greatly enjoyed all the Harry Lampeter books and this Digital Meltdown is about how it all came to be.
Although there is loads of humour in the telling of this story, there is also much food for thought about the world we live in today.
I enjoy the way this book presents to us possible “problems” and yes, the solutions to them which emphasise that yes life does go on.
May I also add that the narrator Graig Bowles did an excellent job in bringing all the different characters to life.

A big Thank you goes to the narrator Mr Craig Bowles who brings all the characters to life in an excellent way. I hope we do not have to wait too long for us to know what Ms.E.Rigby’s revenge will be!

Loved the books, loved the tv series and lived this audio book!
Micael Connelly is an excellent author, his characters are so real, the stories so well planned and well written. Titus Welliver personifies Harry Bosch so well that it is a real joy to see the books come to life in the tv series. But my greatest love has to be this audible book it is all the above and more as Titus Welliver is such an excellent reader - his voice is so pleasant to hear - this book felt more alive that the tv series!

I ‘read’ this book on audible and I really commend the narrator Steve Worsley for his excellent narration - he brings all the different characters to life and helped make this excellent book even more enjoyable.

This is the third book in the series and it does not disappoint! The story is very good but the way TG Reid writes is excellent. Listening to the book I can so visualise the scenes that I feel I am actually there myself. The characters are so down to earth and real. The only thing that bugged me a bit was about the prisoner who was suffering from pancreatic cancer and that he deserved such a painful end.
Having seen my dear late father die from this cruel disease I would not wish it on anyone….
Once again a big Thank You to the narrator Steve Worsley for bringing the story to life with his excellent narration.
Looking forward to the next book.
