Story
In Charlie Hall's world, shadows can be altered, for entertainment and cosmetic preferences—but also to increase power and influence. You can alter someone's feelings—and memories—but manipulating shadows has a cost, with the potential to take hours or days from your life. Your shadow holds all the parts of you that you want to keep hidden—a second self, standing just to your left, walking behind you into lit rooms. And sometimes, it has a life of its own.

This book is amazing!
Reviewed: 20-12-23
This book is great as are all written by holly black. The story is genuinleynamazing. Well written to where the plot/twists were never obvious and were actually really good. tho only reason Inrated it 4 star on here is because the narrator kept messing up pronunciations of certain words and it broke the immersion and became very frustrating after a while. For example: Bolognese being pronounced ball-og-nay-say and viscount being pronounced vis-count. etc

just what you need if you are into anything paranormal, or even if you're just looking for a great laugh. I love these guys so much and I don't know what I would do without content from them. I'm so grateful I found the TFIL channel years ago. Those initial 25 weeks of haunted are the reason I found the channel, and now I get to enjoy the dark, messed up humour from these guys that I love, on the go. I don't have to be sat at my desk in my chair. I can be cleaning, commuting, working out, cooking... whatever. I just lap up any content I can get from them because not only do they bring joy with their great humour they also know when it's time to take things seriously, and not be disrespectful in any way. Highly recommended!

Story
Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

I am and will forever be in absolute awe of Sarah J. Maas' talent as a writer. Her stories are always so compelling and full of wonder and adventure, as well as including some very badass females. She has the power to write antagonist / villain characters so well that you despise them, and she also is able yo write protagonist / hero characters so well that you genuinely love them and grieve if something bad happens to them. I truly feel as if I know these characters like they are real people; They have great personalities. They are also relatable yet magical and otherworldly. The Narrator also does a great job of voicing the characters and portraying all the different, genders, personalities, and emotion. She is so good at portraying the desperation or surprise, especially with all the twists and turns that this story has.I cannot wait for the next one holy shit!! 🤯
