Story
The iconic Spitfire found fame during the darkest early days of World War II. But what happened to the redoubtable fighter and its crews beyond the Battle of Britain, and why is it still so loved today? In late spring 1940, Nazi Germany’s domination of Europe looked unstoppable. With the British Isles in easy reach since the fall of France, Adolf Hitler was convinced that Great Britain would be defeated in the skies over her southern coast, confident his Messerschmitts and Heinkels would outclass anything the Royal Air Force threw at them.

I started listening when I set off for my own adventure of walking the 1500km from the eastern side of the Spanish Pyrenees to the other side and onwards to Santiago along the northern Camino route.
I've just finished it while sitting by my tent after a day of walking. I mention this as the book really gave me an appreciation for how fantastic it is to be able to do something like that. To be able to hop on a plane with a backpack full of equipment and go where I like and do what I want!
The stories are fantastic of course and make me want to experience more of what this world has to offer but how priceless it is to have the privilege to even consider such adventures is what I really got from this book. I will absolutely check out his TV work, it sounds fascinating.
Listen to this book and go out and do something you'll remember for ever 🙏❤️

I would absolutely recommend this book, I got it free included with audible but would also definitely buy it. I've listened to quite a few books of this type but this one positively stands out for reminding the reader of our not very long ago past as hunter gatherers and wild human animals... time to go native 😅

We've been taught that North and South America were empty of humans until around 13,000 years ago - amongst the last great landmasses on earth to have been settled by our ancestors. But new discoveries have radically reshaped this long-established picture and we know now that the Americas were first peopled more than 130,000 years ago - many tens of thousands of years before human settlements became established elsewhere.

Graham Hancock has an excellent storytelling ability, pair that with an eye for meticulous research and you get the masterpiece that is this book. I hope he isn't vindicated too violently considering what is at stake here but it is very much time for academia to stop vilifying him and instead start asking some very big and very interesting questions... I highly recommend this audiobook! (and his appearances on the JRE podcast with Randall Carlson!)

Considering the extreme implications, it is truly time we raid the temples of deceit in Rome, open up the Vatican secrets and be done with the Roman Catholic empire that exists to this day!
The book is a must read, very well researched and read excellently by the author himself. I can not recommend it highly enough.
I remember a few years ago I said you are either against the Catholic church or you are pro child abuse. After finishing this book I believe even more strongly in that position and have extended it...

In The War on the West, international best-selling author Douglas Murray asks: if the history of humankind is a history of slavery, conquest, prejudice, genocide and exploitation, why are only Western nations taking the blame for it? It’s become, he explains, perfectly acceptable to celebrate the contributions of non-Western cultures, but discussing their flaws and crimes is called hate speech. What’s more it has become acceptable to discuss the flaws and crimes of Western culture, but celebrating their contributions is also called hate speech.
