I really enjoy David Jackson novels and luckily they are narrated by Jonathan Keeble, who is great too. I didn’t start with this one, so have listened to others before, all of which have been great. But this one just tops them! The emotion and the drama and the satisfaction of the conclusion are perfect. Highly recommend if you like the crime genre.

Having Harry has a running theme throughout this book was so lovely. Although the book itself is a bit of a cliché at times, having Harry was a pleasant twist. Overall an easy and feel good book, although one part in particular made me shed a tear. Great if you want something light and likeable.

Jamie is the perfect narrator to these stories. His pace and intonation are really soothing. And I can’t believe that they are included with audible for free. The stories are good, I just feel that they could be longer. They cut off quite abruptly. But overall these are effective sleep aids and Jamie is the perfect choice.

Jake D'Arcy has spent most of his 29 years trying to get his life just right. He's nearly there: great girlfriend, great friends, stable job. A distant relationship with his boisterous family - which is exactly the way he wants it. So why does everything feel so wrong? When his popular, irritatingly confident teenage brother, Trick, comes out as gay to a rapturous response, Jake realises he has questions about his own repressed bisexuality and that he can't wait any longer to find his answers.

Captivating
Reviewed: 22-02-21
TJ Klune can be really hit and miss for me. However, this was a hit! In parts it is really beautifully written, and emotive. Some themes are a little relentless, but I think that speaks to the reality of experiencing them. I found the intimate scene far too graphic, and I think it could have benefited from being a little more delicate or implied, but it didn’t hinder overall enjoyment of the book.

Story
Luc O'Donnell is tangentially - and reluctantly - famous. His rock-star parents split when he was young, and the father he's never met spent the next 20 years cruising in and out of rehab. Now that his dad's making a comeback, Luc's back in the public eye, and one compromising photo is enough to ruin everything. To clean up his image, Luc has to find a nice normal relationship...and Oliver Blackwood is as nice and normal as they come. He's a barrister, an ethical vegetarian, and someone who has never inspired a moment of scandal in his life. He’s perfect boyfriend material.
