The model numbers of Xiaomi’s latest flagship devices have surfaced. It is now officially confirmed that the Chinese tech giant is working on the Xiaomi 15 series. Confirming the Qualcomm official’s statement about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, the Xiaomi 15 series will be the first to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
The Xiaomi 15 has appeared with three different model numbers: 24129PN74G, 24129PN74I, and 24129PN74C. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 15 Pro has the model number 24101PNB7C. The first four digits of the device indicate the estimated launch date. Remember that the model number of the Xiaomi 15 Pro, 24101PNB7C, actually represents the launch date of October 2024. “2410” signifies October 2024.
The model number starting with “2410” is for the Pro model, while “2412” is for the regular model. This implies that Xiaomi has started working on the Pro model earlier, likely because creating a compact phone is more difficult. In a move that will disappoint Pro fans worldwide, Xiaomi keeps the 15 Pro for the Chinese market only. However, the regular Xiaomi 15 will get a global launch.
Alongside the Xiaomi 15 Pro, another Xiaomi 15 Pro Ti Satellite is coming
Additionally, we have discovered another device named “Xiaomi 15 Pro Ti Satellite” with the model number “2410DPN6CC“. Note that Xiaomi 15 Pro with satellite connection will also be exclusive to China.
Actually, a titanium frame is not an entirely new thing for Xiaomi, as Xiaomi 14 Pro also had a titanium chassis. Satellite connectivity isn’t a first for Xiaomi; the 14 Pro and 14 Ultra already came with it in China. It’s a crucial feature allowing you to make emergency calls via satellite connection in situations where cellular service is unavailable. It appears that other OEMs beyond Apple are beginning to implement this feature slowly yet surely.
The upcoming devices, Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro will come with Android 15 based HyperOS 2.0 preinstalled. Xiaomi has made a surprise decision to rebrand its longstanding proprietary Android skin, known as “MIUI,” to HyperOS. HyperOS has significantly enhanced animations and a redesigned user interface, offering users a distinctly improved experience. With the launch of the Xiaomi 15 series, the latest iteration of HyperOS will be out as well.
