The Pixel Tablet has officially released, but the official stylus and keyboard accessories are still nowhere to be found. Google hasn’t confirmed these accessories were going to be launching for the new device. But rumors have been swirling for a little while now that both a stylus and a keyboard would be launching for the Pixel Tablet.

Based on a recent report from Android Authority, it seems the company may actually be working on them. The evidence of these potential accessories was found within an app Google would use to showcase the Pixel Tablet’s features. The report states that the latest version of the retail demo app contained lines of code that reference both accessories. Suggesting Google does plan official release both at some point in the future.

Of course these aren’t confirmations. Plans can always change, and there’s any number of reasons that Google might decide to never offer these accessories to Pixel Tablet owners. And simple references in lines of code are far from actual proof that Google is working on these.

The Pixel Tablet could still get third-party stylus and keyboard accessories

Even if Google never releases these accessories on its own, there’s always a chance a third-party company may do so. Especially given the usefulness each one possesses for owners.

Still, official Google versions would probably be appreciated by those that own one. It is a tablet after all, and both a keyboard and a stylus would make it easier to interact with the device for various purposes. And it’s rare that Google doesn’t put care into the accessories for its hardware. People often use their tablets for productivity and both accessories are essentially staples for that kind of usage. Even if not necessarily a requirement.

The Pixel Tablet was launched this week and you can pick one up starting at $499.
