Google has released a new beta build of Android 13 QPR3 for Pixel devices. It is pushing Beta 3.1 with a host of bug fixes and improvements. This is probably the final beta update before the stable release, which will arrive next month as a new Feature Drop for the Pixel lineup. It will be the third Android 13-based quarterly feature update for Pixels.

On its release notes, Google has for Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3.1, Google has detailed six major bug fixes. To start with, the company has addressed a notification issue where the first notification was getting stuck with an offset in the notification panel. A memory leak that affected the system UI has also been fixed along with a separate system UI issue that occasionally led to app crashes. Google has patched the problem of the device crashing sometimes when using the camera

Additionally, Google has fixed an issue with the TalkBack feature. The company says that “the volume level that was set while TalkBack was enabled did not persist after toggling TalkBack off and on again”. This problem should no longer exist after installing Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3.1. Last but not least Google has fixed bugs that caused excessive power drain on devices running QPR3 beta builds. The company is also pushing stability improvements to those devices with the latest beta update.

Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3.1 is now available for eligible Pixel devices

The latest Android 13 QPR3 update will be available to all eligible Pixel devices enrolled in the Android Beta for Pixel program — Pixel 4a through Pixel 7. Except for the Pixel 6 lineup on Verizon’s network, all other devices are getting the May 2023 security patch along with the aforementioned bug fixes and improvements. The new firmware build number for those devices is T3B3.230413.006. That for the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a on Verizon’s network is T3B3.230413.006.A1. They are receiving this update with the April security patch.

It’s worth mentioning here that Google has already launched a beta program for Android 14. The company is running it simultaneously with Android 13 QPR3 beta. If you have updated your Pixel to Android 14 beta, you will not receive the Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3.1. Meanwhile, if you’re looking to sign up for these beta programs, you will find more information here. You can choose one between Android 13 QPR3 beta and Android 14 beta. The former would be more stable and probably the better choice if you’re installing it on your daily driver.
