Disappointed as it only “rings” the app on your phone and this is not clearly stated in the features. Your in- house bell will not ring as pressing the ring button does not close the circuit. It seems logical and easy to achieve (as simply touching the wires is enough) but it is not intended in this product. The proposed solution is to buy “chimes “ - additional devices and place them around the house. This does not fit our requirements- we will remain with the old simple bell and buy a standalone camera instead.

Great video doorbell, but points to be aware of....

I was keen to get a video doorbell for security and convenience. Love that I can speak to someone ringing the bell even if I'm not at home. Also very happy that I can record anyone who comes through the gate! As I said, security right :-)

But be aware that you have 2 options; wired or battery. If you don't already have a wired doorbell connection you'll need to have that professionally installed. I opted for battery unit for that reason. So far, battery is holding up well. Had fully charged it but then for various reasons the installation was delayed for 3 weeks. Its now been up and working for about 2 weeks (5 weeks in all) and the battery is only at 65%. There are obviously various settings you can adjust to improve battery life though, I haven't done so as yet as there seems to be no need.

Be mindful of the height at installation! The instructions recomend 40 something inches from the ground. That seemed quite low to me, but when I had mine fitted they placed it at a standard doorbell height before I remembered and now my main view is the road and pavement, with a very thin sliver at the bottom that's actually my forecourt! Lesson learned.
I can still see the people who come in and ring the bell though as most people tend to naturally stand back after ringing or knocking anyway.

The motion sensitivity can only be adjusted if you sign up for the Ring protect plan. Because of the incorrect height placement I have needed to adjust the settings so signed up, couple of quid a month so not that expensive, BUT they take the year's payment in one go, as opposed to monthly installments, so be aware of that. I'm sure there's a way to change that but it wasn't obvious to me so I missed it, and they don't exactly make it clear you'll stump up the lot upfront!

You can easily adjust which areas in your camera view will trigger an alert, however, you'll still get lots of notifications from outside that area. This is why I needed the sensitivity adjustment, but I found that lowering it and changing to person activated only meant I didn't get notified when someone came in the forecourt. Have adjusted it again and now just put up with being notified every time the old chap up the road goes for a wander....about 6 times a day, 12 notifications just on him, bless him! 🤣

The night vision is excellent, but black and white, not that it makes a difference. Takes a snapshot every hour overnight as well.

You can stop it capturing and notifying as you want, and can pause notifications for up to 2 hours. Turn it off altogether if you want also. There's different modes to use if you've got more than one camera or home security system with Ring.

The most annoying thing is the volume the speaker puts out when you talk through it! So loud that your nearest neighbours will hear the details of what you say quite clearly, and there is no obvious way to reduce the volume. (If anyone has found a way, do add a comment!) I find myself speaking in hushed tones so as to not shout at whoever is at the door!

Well worth the money all in all, just learn from my mistakes and get the cheapest subscription so you can access all the benefits and settings.

Nao gostei o facto de nao ter informações/instruções em língua portuguesa assim como todo o software. O que a marca podia alterar. Fica o meu descontentamento e o pedido para essas duas situações. Pelo menos português do brasil. Fico a aguardar resposta a estas questões. Ob

Ho acquistato questo campanello smart perché avevo sentito parlare della marca e delle funzionalità interessanti che aveva, ma dopo averlo provato per più di 4 mesi posso solo dire che sono molto deluso.

Innanzitutto la cosa che più mi ha deluso è la durata della batteria davvero lontana da quanto dichiarato, per sfruttare tutte le sue funzioni non si arriva neanche ad una settimana che bisogna ricaricarlo, e ahimè ogni volta bisogna svitare le viti, toglierlo e metterlo in carica per un 4/5 ore (tempo in cui non si potrà usufruire del campanello e ogni settimana diventa davvero frustante), con tutte le funzionalità più interessanti disattivate (come il live view e rilevamento di movimento), quindi utilizzandolo solo come campanello e basta, si arriva a quasi un mese di autonomia, ma a questo punto bastava comprare un semplice campanello senza fili dai cinesi per 5€ che era meglio e durava molto di più.

Altra nota dolente è che per utilizzare tutte le funzionalità interessanti come registrazioni video e di acquisire Istantanee periodiche sul tuo dispositivo bisogna sottoscrivere un abbonamento di 3€ al mese e senza questo si riduce di molto l'utilità del dispositivo. (perché non pensare la possibilità di mettere una micro SD per poter registrare autonomamente senza pagare abbonamenti cloud?)

La reattività alla risposta da telefonino per visualizzare e comunicare quando qualcuno suona non è veloce e bisogna attendere almeno un 5 secondi prima che si possa vedere, ed io ho il mio modem Wi-FI ad alta velocità con connessione in fibra praticamente a 4 metri dal campanello.

Peccato perché se non fosse per la durata della batteria davvero bassa e migliorare certi aspetti funzionali era davvero un prodotto dalle grandi potenzialità, se non fosse che non posso restituirlo più lo restituirei immediatamente.

J'ai déjà une Ring depuis des années, se sont des produits fiables de bonne qualité. Celle-ci était pour ma maman, installation rapide, sans problème. Et à ce prix avec le Chime, c'était uen super affaire (89€)
