This is my first Alexa anything. And I really love it. I wanted a speaker in my home office so I wouldn't have to always use my laptop headset. I play Spotify a lot. I saw that the speaker for the echo dot was pretty decent and cost far less than others I was looking into. It sounds great! I also wanted a weather station clock, so that when I get up in the morning to prepare my child for school, I could know the weather immediately. Alexa has really killed two birds with one stone. This is a multi-purpose device and for a family with young children (especially if your child likes to ask a lot of questions) this is great. The speaker has a wonderful equalizer. Now the best part is the Alexa AI. I'm just having fun with it and so is my family. I live in the Netherlands. My family speaks Dutch and English. This device only works in English, but if that doesn't bother you, you will likely like this device. I feel like I got more than what I paid for in quality. I bought two of these at once. I am loving this!!! I also got more than what I thought I was getting and the Alexa app is great and has so much information it's overwhelming, but very easy to use.

Ik heb al meerdere Echo Dot en Echo Show apparaten in huis. De Echo gekocht met BF om eens te proberen: geluid is voller en vooral de bas is beter. Een goede keus wanneer je veel naar muziek luistert.
Aanrader.

Bought with discount. Bad to no usage instructions. Had to use the net to find out how to use many of the features available. Also lots of features/skills don't work outside the US even when accepted to use English as main setup.
Amazon missed a lot of potential sales by locking out a lot of features and skills for users outside the US. My advice would be to disable the geolocking if they want more revenue.
Product has a good build, sounds nice and linking to other echo and my firestick 4K was a little clum6to setup.
So in overall on software side there is a lot of room for improvement (with updates) to fix.
Example: i linked 2 the 2 echoes to my firestick 4K to improve sound. There's no good way to tweak the sound quality as only bass mid and low in the settings. Whenever I watch a movie i miss a option to set sound setup to put voice more to the forefront because the music is to harsh in the foreground that to understand the dialogue i have to set the volume very high which in turn makes the music obviously more louder.
Would be nice if there where more profiles added for music & music exc.

Als je het niet erg vind dat er geen Nederlandse ondersteuning op zit, is het echt een geniaal apparaat. Zelfs mijn moeder is er weg van. (60+)

Het klopt dat een aantal dingen niet ondersteund worden. Dat komt voornamelijk door geografische ondersteuning maar verwacht ik dat dit binnenkort ook uit de wereld geholpen zal worden.

Wil je Alexa gebruiken voor je lampen, muziek en alle daagse dingen. Kun je je hiermee voldoende uit de voeten. Er zijn voldoende skills om dit te verbreden, echter zijn er nog wel wat beperkingen zoals LG tv ondersteuning en dergelijke.

Muziek kwaliteit is voortreffelijk voor een mono speaker. Makkelijk te connecten met een ander Bluetooth systeem maar zelf doe ik dat nauwelijks.

Voor iemand die zich voldoende uit de voeten kan met een smartphone en niet veel moeite heeft met het gebruiken van apps. Kun je hier handig mee overweg. Gebruik is heel simpel en gebruiksvriendelijk.

I really don't reccommend an Echo of any kind for a home setup - the ads alone are enough to spoil the experience, as it tries to sell you more amazon applications ever so often.

It works well when connected to Spotify I'll give it that, and the sound is alright. But it doesn't hear the commands properly more often than not, and at this point (apart from the occasional "What's the time?" or the Ambient noise fearue, which addmitedly is the best part for us), most often we use it as a wireless speaker - and there are better alternatives out there for either cheaper, or better quality speakers...

This little boll is a nice extra to use indoor as an alarm clock, to use for playing music etc. Smaller version without the screen, but works the same
