This is what I was missing myself before ordering:
Between the Braun S9 and Philips SP9000:
SHAVING
The Braun achieves a closer shave and I found it easier to shave the upper lip and sideburns. Shaving the face is quick and easy. However the neck area was an issue for me, I had to apply pressure, repeat the same area multiple times, and eventually I was still left with patches which I could not properly shave. Also the device was getting quite warm after a while. Philips did not achieve as close a shave, however the result was much more consistent with less effort.
OPERATION
The Braun produces a lot of noise. This is quite annoying when shaving in a small bathroom. It is also bigger, heavier and vibrates more than the Philips.
CHARGING
The Braun cleaning / charging base is quite convenient, although on the bulky side. The Philips charging pad is not bad but I would like to have the option to charge with a simple usb cable.
CLEANING
The Braun cleaning / charging base is quite convenient. However cleaning is loud due to the shaver turning on during the cleaning cycle and the overall size is rather large. The Philips cleaning base is smaller and quieter during the cleaning cycle.
CASE
The Braun travel case is a great idea since you will not need to be carrying a separate charger on long trips. Philips could have solved this by offering a usb charging option. Also the case provided by Philips feels low quality, even the zipper takes too much effort to use.
In the end I personally chose to keep using the Philips mostly due to the issues with my neck and the noise produced by Braun.
Hope that helps others as well!
