Já tinha um Garmin Forerunner e queria trocar por um modelo mais novo. A proposta outodoor me atraiu e eu acho que fiz uma excelente escolha! Várias funcionalidades muito legais. A pulseira e o case são muito bons. Estou muitíssimo satisfeito!

Les points positifs :
- confortable (dispositif porté également de nuit)
- léger
- robuste (à voir avec le temps, mais elle a déjà connu quelques jours de chantier)
- interface spartiate
- simple d'emploi sans être simpliste
- personnalisation minimale mais efficace
- capteurs précis
- possibilité de choix des satellites (GPS, Glonass, Galileo)
- formidable outil, même hors connexion avec le téléphone. Garmin express et Garmin Explore sur le smartphone en font une machine de guerre.
- pour un prix bien inférieur, offre dans l'absolu les mêmes services qu'une Garmin Fenix

Points négatifs :
- Pas forcément esthétique en costume 3 pièces, mais pourquoi pas ?
- Positionnement GPS assez énergivore
- à voir avec le temps

Edit : après presque un an d'utilisation quotidienne.
- montre portée sur différents chantiers, pas une seule rayure sur le boitier
- cadran toujours protégé par un verre de protection, donc comme neuf
- aucune mauvaise surprise, à part quelques bugs parfois avec des appels reçus dont la notification reste affichée (montre trop loin du téléphone au moment de l'appel)
- autonomie inchangée : un peu plus d'une semaine sans utilisation du GPS
Je recommande toujours autant.

This watch is the best! The features for tracking stress, sleep and body battery have been really helpful in managing my day to day fight with PTSD. The body battery is an interesting concept that helps me plan my days based on my energy reserves and checking them against how I am actually feeling. It is surprisingly accurate. Sooo many more great features! Love that it is not metal, but rather a very light weight, non metal case. Im allergic to nickel so that takes the worry out of it. Really wish the Solar Tactical was available when I ordered it... this one is good but I seem to have to plug it in once a week to recharge it. After having higher end watches that recharge on kinetic motion or sunlight I liked not having to charge my watches or replace batteries. But I wanted to try my first garmin watch and decided to go with the non solar to see if I liked it. I Doo!!

The headline answer I give is - not likely ever!

I am thoroughly impressed by this watch. The Instinct Tactical is my second smartwatch ever (first was Moto). My consideration for the next watch was specific, I wanted to have GPS, practical features, RTHR, great data analytics to review patterns, this watch fits the desire.

Beyond the scope of expectations, what brought me in is the following:
German Engineering - Top Notch
Reputable company that has been in the business for a long time - very long
Battery that can a really long time last up to 14 days (not tested, details of how I last 10 days below).
Something that goes against the trend of the typical smartwatch buyers.
Features that matter (not stuffed with what most WANT instead of what makes sense for a watch).

I say, if you want to use your Apple Pay, or Google Pay, etc. Just pull out your phone...

A little bit of coverage on where I'm coming from:
Logical buying choice that will actually last longer than 2 years. The premise of smart watches that are appealing are the bright color OLED panel, touch screen, gestures, etc. All of these features use a ridiculous amount of battery and the idea of having to take a watch off every couple days doesn't make sense.
You see, if you imagine any device with Lithium Ion having a maximum number of possible charges (ranging from 500 - 1500 charges) in addition to the quality at which these charges degrade WITHIN this lifetime, some thing that has to be charges so often just doesn't cut it for me, and it shouldn't for you either (phone and notebooks are different - we're talking smartwear technology). Things that REALLY are not necessary in the phone, only desired to be apart of the stylistic trends of those around you.

This watch intelligently meets my expectations, and does so in a way that is different from the trend. This watch has a seemingly simplistic design, one that some might see as being a regular watch - they can think what they want.

When I talk about this watch to people (like when I get notifications to the Instinct), a number of them were pleasantly surprised, and to say its a Garmin watch, they jokingly ask if it has GPS "YES", I say, as well as "... oh.. well can you track your bearings, ACTUALLY use the compass for navigation - use your watch to navigate?" ... "YES, YES".

This watch has some really unique feats up its circuitry and I REALLY am so impressed by this design concept (no OLED, no touch, no NFC), it truly is unique and quite frankly, a surprise considering the functions of other watches in this pricepoint.

The Tactical was an unrecognized surprised until later, it has a "stealth" function that will disable all radio functions (Bluetooth, GPS, etc.). BUT with having an onboard memory, it will maintain record of your steps, HR.. etc. etc. until you reconnect (not forever obviously).

I cant speak for other watches, but because of the depth in the GPS functionality, features that are just really cool include detailed views of when the sun's position in the sky, when potential storms are likely to arrive in the area.

I'm not an avid hiker, adventurer, biker, etc. I just go to the gym and work. This watch lasts for about 10-12 days, and I have monitoring running actively (every second), using the dark-themed watch face, and a quick toggle to turn on and off functionality that uses GPS on the menu slider.

I HIGHLY recommend this watch if you are in the market for something if you are, or plan to be active, want some unique features as well as practical ones. Impressive data analytics of your stress, sleep, heart rate, step count, and other familiar trackers. I love showing off the functions of this watch when people poke with curiosity, I could (and would) sell this product for Garmin with a lot of joy.

Its a 2018 watch, but honestly, as it STILL holds is price-value between $200-300, tells you something (a good rule of thumb).

The 4 stars for the sleep tracking - I suspect that it uses your movement, HR and patterns between them, to determine your deep, light and REM sleep states. I think this area is tricky for all watches with this technology, as the difficulty in knowing independent without other technologies, is tough when one is watching a show before going to sleep - where movement is zero, and the transition to going to sleep has no movement. This can result in the graphs appearing as though I were sleeping. So for the stats that show that I was asleep for 10 hours with a REM cycle at the time I was bingeing the last episode of something before lights out, when I actually slept for 7-8.. it throws off my weekly, and monthly stats slightly. Its seldom when it happens, but still.

It determines the likeliness of you being asleep in the smartest way with the best the algorithms could offer using just HR and movement. So I understand the challenges that most manufacturers have with this aspect *even fitbit and others with Sp02 tech*.

ich habe die uhr als neuware in schwarz bestellt. versendet wurde sie schnell, jedoch war sie offensichtlich schon einmal geöffnet und eingeschaltet worden. die geöffnete ovp ist mir egal, jedoch nicht die inbetriebnahme der uhr. deshalb ein stern abzug.
ich habe mich beim vergleichen mit der garmin tactix charlie auf grund der funktionen und des preises für die instnct tactical entschieden.

die uhr wird mit einem ladekabel und ein paar dokumentationen geliefert, jedoch ohne bedienungsanleitung. diese ist bei garmin als pdf verfügbar. negativ ist für mich, dass ich wieder ein kabel mehr habe, weil es eine garmin eigenentwicklung ist...wozu?...warum kein usb c?
die bedienung dürfte für bestehende garmin nutzer kein problem sein, ansonsten ist etwas eingewöhnung, was aber nicht tragisch ist, erforderlich. die knöpfe sind nicht wackelig und haben einen guten druckpunkt. das display ist in fast allen situationen sehr gut ablesbar!
das material der uhr wirkt wertig und riecht auch nicht im neuzustand unangenehm.
das armband läßt sich sehr gut anpassen, der verstellbereich ist sehr groß. sie trägt sich, aufgrund der dröße und des geringen gewichtes, äusserst angenehm.
über die bedienung der menüs bzw. erklärung der funktionen...findet man auf youtube ausreichend und gute videos, von daher lasse ich das hier weg.

sauer stößt mir auf, dass man die garmin eigenen apps nur mit umfangreichen zugeständnissen an garmin, für die verwendung der daten verwenden kann. auch funktioniert die synchronisation der daten mit einem iphone 11 ab und an nicht. die smartwatch funktionen arbeiten auch nur zum teil, trotz troubleshooting gem. des garmin supports auf der hp.
ich bekomme z.b. chatnachrichten, jedoch keine sms nachrichten angezeigt.

die bedienung der apps, speziell der explore app, finde ich ...gemessen am relativ geringen funktionsumfang unnötig „kompliziert“.
man kann aber routen z.b. in der bergfex app erstellen, in die app explore app importieren und auf die uhr laden (alles mobil am handy). hier kommt jedoch der relativ geringe speicherplatz auf der uhr bei eventuell längeren touren zum tragen.

die genauigkeit der pulsfunktion ist gut, schnelle pulswechsel sind systembedingt aber nicht gut erfassbar...wer also immer einen sehr genauen pulsbereich will, kommt um einen brustgurt nicht herum.

die akkulaufzeit beträgt bei mir etwa 14 tage... jedoch sobald gps bzw. die navigation oder mehrer einstellungen im menü zu tragen kommen, wesentlich weniger. hängt auch von der temperatur und der gps signalstärke ab. im trackmodus komme ich nicht an die vom hersteller angegebene zeit.
aufpassen beim laden...das ladegerät sollte nicht zu früh auf erhaltungsladung umschalten.

die gps genauigkeit ist dem preis und größe der uhr angemessen...beim wandern und radfahren meistens sehr gut...beim test auf der autobahn fuhr ich aber oftmals auf der gegenfahrbahn bzw. doch auch immer wieder mal realiv weit abseits...wobei...es ist eben kein strassennavi.
die schnelligkeit beim starten der gps basierten funktionen ist normalerweise enorm hoch, da das signal äusserst schnell gefunden wird. einschränkungen hatte ich nur im dicht bebauten gebiet, was im kontext zum verwendungszweck, der antennengröße usw. akzeptabel ist.

kleines fazit:
ich kann die uhr empfehlen, sie ist nicht überladen, ausreichend robust und tut was sie soll. mir gefällt sie auch optisch sehr gut. der tragekomfort entspricht einer leichten sportuhr, die materialauswahl passt gut.
ich würde sie wieder kaufen...preis leistung sehr gut.
