Privacy Screen Protector Not So Private
Everything came well packaged in a set that has everything needed to protect the iPhone screen and camera. The instructions are conveniently placed on the inside of the box. The prep alcohol wipes and sticker aids come in their own neat, sealed, little bags.I needed to replace my screen protector and my husband suggested I try the privacy screen. It’s a lot dimmer than I thought it would be, even looking at it straight on. The matte finish is also another “layer” to have to look through.At certain proximities and angles, someone next to you can see what’s on the screen, but it is more difficult. At the gym, for instance, the people on the machines directly behind me, and to my right and left behind me, can still see what’s on my screen because they fall within the angle of visibility. So that’s a disappointment.The facial recognition seems to struggle with this protector as well. At first, the facial recognition did not want to work, but then it seems like my camera adjusted. So it works well half the time, and the other half of the time I have to enter my passcode after the facial recognition fails. I even tried lowering my privacy settings on my phone to see if that would help. Nope.I thought I could give up the clarity of a completely transparent screen protector, in favor of privacy. I thought it just needed some getting used to. I gave it a try. But I’m finding it to fail on the privacy aspect—especially since the “blinders” theory doesn’t work horizontally which is the direction to turn the phone when watching a movie!, people around me can still see my screen, and I have to enter a password half the time.I’m bummed it didn’t work out!
