Almost all the filters produced dark filthy looking water and had to be thrown out. The return window was closed only a month after purchase unforeseen, so most of this purchase was a waste.

I did the best I could to properly identify the correct filter for the pitcher, since there is no model number for the pitcher, and no item number identified for the filter. All I did was match up the base (with the quadrant-divided bottom, and they turned out to be the correct filter. Now, the water FLIES through the filter, instead of falling through it laboriously, it SCREAMS through. I also want to state that the shipper got them to me surprisingly fast!!!!!!

Unfiltered water can leak into the pitcher. The cartridge isn't seated well in the filter opening of the Brita pitcher I bought in February. My well water is cloudy and I prefer to filter it. I used the blue Brita filter that came with pitcher and the water was crystal clear. After using the "Water Pitcher Replacement Filter" no- name brand from 'somewhere overseas', the water was still cloudy. If I held the filter down into the opening while waiting for the water to drip through, the water was a little less cloudy. Nope. Will use only Brita filters. Too bad I have to order ANOTHER pitcher (that I don't need) in order to use the refillable cartridges Brita offers. The one star is for price. I would prefer to submit zero.

Originally i was very pleased with the purchase. The first 2 filters worked great. The third one caused the water to have an unpleasant taste (almost like medicine). So I threw that one away within days of putting it in. Now on the fourth filter and it too has same unpleasant taste. I am still using the fourth filter and while the water by itself tastes pretty bad, if you use it to make Koolaid or coffee it works well the bad taste barely discernible.
