Recently bought a s23 ultra 4 days ago. The phone constantly turned off and on at will (restart/boot loop) while the phone service attendant tried to download all my apps from a previous phone. The attendant advised me to return the phone back to Amazon asap however, I tried a few troubleshooting steps to remedy the issue first before filling a return claim. The troubleshooting steps are as follows:
1. I closed all background apps; the problem still persists. Move to next step.
2. Placed in safe mode; after removing safe mode problem still persists. Move to next step.
3. Placed in download mode, after reboot problem still persists. Move to next step.
4. Placed in recovery mode, after removing mode problem still persists. Move to next step.
5. Rebooted phone, problem still persists. Move to next step.
6. Wiped cache, after restarting problem still persists. Move to next step.
7. Performed factory reset, problem (restart/boot loop) got even worse. The ultimate step. Phone needs to be returned to manufacturer if a factory reset does not fix the issue.
Now I’m waiting for the seller to finalize the refund transaction. I’m highly disappointed even though this is a common issue with s23 (any model). Hopefully the troubleshooting guide I left above helps solve your issue. Just Google or watch a YouTube video on how to place your phone in the different modes. Some YouTube videos have all mode changing procedures I listed. Good luck.
