1.0 out of 5 starsWarning: 2 month old paperweight. Risky purchase.

UPDATE: The phone is 2 months old today and now will not power on at all. I was able to charge up to 100% once in the last 6+ weeks. Seems that I've received a lemon here, as there's plenty of good reviews. ZERO support from UMIDIGI, no responses from email. It may be a good phone, but I wouldn't buy unless you can stomach the loss like I have with the now $230 paperweight. Is it worth the risk?
TL/DR Summary: I would avoid this phone despite a pretty nice list of features and specs. More detail below.
I did some exhaustive work looking for an unlocked Android phone that fit all the capabilities and functions that I wanted. I was "upgrading" from an Asus Zenfone 4 Max Plus that I LOVED (shattered screen) and I thought I'd try a new brand with the latest Android OS. I'll list the good and bad below:
CONS:
Battery port for the USB-C appears to already be wearing out. When plugged in, the phone will toggle between charging and not even without the phone being moved. As a result, I haven't been able to get a full charge in about two weeks. (Phone is a little over a month old).
Battery is advertised as 5150mAh. It either doesn't have that capacity or it is such poor quality that it doesn't hold a charge effectively. This was when I was able to get a full charge up to 100%, the battery would barely last the entire day even with only moderate use.
Camera is moderate to poor quality. Photos tend to blur and low light is impossible. My work phone is an iPhone 6 and takes much much better photos.
Rear fingerprint scanner is inconvenient, especially with a case. (Previous phone had a front sensor)
PROS
Latest Android 9.0
Tons of Space (128GB internal and I added a 128GB micro SD card). Seamless storage. Love it.
No lag, apps run fantastic.
Display is beautiful and comes with a custom screen protector already applied.
Face recognition works well. Nice feature.
All in all, the specs are fantastic and it's a beautiful phone. However, the battery and charging issues are more than enough for me to say STAY AWAY. I feel like I'll be lucky to get 6 months out of this future $200 paperweight.
