1.0 out of 5 starsMultiple technical difficulties

UPDATE 2: I’m sorry, but I had to drop this down to 1 star. Ever since adding this camera to my Eufy Security app, I’ve had multiple, DAILY, crashes and extreme lag. I can receive notifications, but once I tap on it, it won’t play or load. Until I figure out what to do to fix it, I’m recommending that you DON’T add this camera to your Eufy Security app.
UPDATE: After adding this camera to my Eufy Security app, my iPhone has become extremely lagging. The Eufy app lags profoundly, sometimes taking up 30 seconds to load a video, sometimes no loading at all. It has effecting the entire function of my phone while using LTE also. When I’m inside the house, the app generally works well with a few lags and glitches here and there. When away from home, it’s nearly useless to view recorded events. Live streaming? Forget it! The performance of my iPhone dropped so badly that I actually called Verizon thinking my account was being throttled or some other tech issue. No, everything was as it should be with Verizon. This camera being added to the Eufy Security app was the only recent change. The Eufy doorbell connected via the HomeBase2 was working perfectly, until this camera was added to the app. So buyer beware and just keep this in mind. There may be some technical issues and performance degradation with this unit. I don’t understand it since I’m using the microSD card that came with the unit and viewing via the Eufy Security app as instructed. I’m not using any Cloud services. I know it’s made in China, but come on!
Well, it’s OK. Perhaps, my application of this camera is wrong for the site I have it in. I’m not amazed by it. My friend said the resolution is better than a lot of commercially installed security cameras. That might be true, so I’ll concede that. I ran a surveyor’s wheel down the side of the house. The far side of the air conditioner from the camera is around 10 feet. The farthest bedroom window is around 24 feet. The end of the wall is 28 feet. The spotlight provide decent color video out just a bit past 10 feet (maybe around 12). The IR night vision has good resolution to around 20 feet. So at night, I could see someone tampering with the AC unit or fooling with the bathroom windows. Down at the bedroom window, I’d be able to tell that someone was there but there’d be no useable detail at all. THIS IS ALL IN REGARD TO MY PLACEMENT OF THE CAMERA. Near the camera, I have a brick wall to one side, a wooden fence to the other, and the roof eve. In front of the camera I have a large bush. All those objects reflect IR waves back to the camera which limits the distance it can clearly view. The field of view is wide. While monitoring my AC unit and side windows, I also monitor the neighbor’s AC unit and windows. I guess she’s getting some free, but very limited, security for the side of her house too. Person detection works as it should and “pet” detection is only in Beta but seems to work well too. In the middle of the night, the camera detected, alerted, and recorded an opossum. The camera is about the size of a baseball which can help it be discreet; however, Eufy loves it make all their cameras WHITE which negates any stealth. So you can see a bright, white baseball camera sitting at the top of my fence. That coupled with the magnet mount system and I’ve got a hi-tech security camera that’s “free to a good home”. Sure, the camera will catch your average peeping tom, but any serious or seasoned criminal will simply rip the camera down or spray paint it. Eufy’s bright white cameras are conspicuous to say the least, and are just begging to be tampered with. Overall, it’s a good camera for shorter distances, under about 25 feet. I think I may have placed it wrong and need to use it elsewhere.
If included 3 photos. One IR nightvision, one spotlight night vision, one sunrise daylight.
