1.0 out of 5 starsWORST SERVICE EVER! DID NO REPAIR JOB AND TOOK MY ORIGINAL BOX
Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2024
I thought when I purchased this insurance, it would be a good thing because expensive printers are only warranted by the manufacturer for one year. So I purchased a four-year plan from Asurion. Fast forward, my printer started giving wrong readings, saying the inks is empty, when in fact the inks were full and brand new. This happened outside of the year warranty so I took action. I did all the regular maintenance things throughout the use of the printer but then it went bad with incorrect readings (and no, the reservoir was not full). So I contacted Asurion and started a claim. They sent me a shipping label and I carefully packed my printer in its original box with original packing material.
Asurion was supposed to fix it. They kept my printer for three weeks and didn't give me any details when I called to find out what was wrong. The technician had no notes. When I got the printer back, it came in and oversized refrigerator box, loose, and jostled around with very little padding. My original Canon printer box was gone and they gave me a cheap brown cardboard box to send my printer back in! When I unwrapped the printer from the flimsy bubble wrap, it had been scratched! The top had a gouge in it! Along with that, the printer was missing the white paint in the word "CANON" on the front! What happened to my original printer?
I put new ink cartridges in and the printer was still bad! It registered the cartridges were empty (some of them) even when they were new! So the same problem existed. But now worse, when I tried to print, the printer left bands or bars of miscolorization across my glossy print.
I pray called Asurion and told them the problem. They told me to send the printer back. But they had my original box and what they sent me for a shipping box was twice the size of the printer and there wasn't enough packing to make it safe in shipping! Where's my original box?
I explained to them the issue and they said they would escalate it. They said I should be hearing from them in a few days. Two weeks went by and I heard nothing nir got a follow up email. I called them and got the runaround again. I wanted them to be accountable for this and they ignored their lack of professionalism. They said to call them under main number to reach a supervisor. I did that and did not get any help because no one returned my call again.
So I contacted Amazon to make Amazon aware of the problem - that Asurion was not living up to their insurance guarantee. Asurion sent me a email telling me to call them on their main number. They sent me the same message they said before. I responded with photos of my printer, photos of it I had in the original packing, and photos of what they sent me in their crummy box. They were very automated about the whole thing and told me to contact them and speak to their front line representatives.
They sent me an email and I explained to them again. I received another email that said pretty much the same thing as the one above without much variation. Then I sent them more photos and it re-explained the problem.
Sent me another email telling me to contact them at their main number - again.
Even after I showed them half a dozen photos of the problem, including their crummy box and the bad print job, The bad readings on the printer, and the scratch on top of the printer, and also that the paint was missing on one of the letters on the word CANON, THEY IGNORED IT ALL.
Today I received an email that was exactly like the ones before. It also mentioned I should give Asurion a review on the Amazon website. So here it is. No service. No proper repair. Not even my original box. No help. No professionalism.
I cannot recommend them. Now I have to figure out what to do with this bad printer and figure out what to do with the bad insurance I paid for.
The big bummer is this insurance company is pretty much the only one that Amazon works with for electronics in the United States. It's one of the worst experience I have ever had with Amazon and Asurion.
