This plan is unlike any insurance plan I've had for a phone before and I am extremely dissatisfied. I filed a claim for a cracked screen on my phone. I was instructed to bring my phone to their repair place so they could look at it and decide if it could be repaired or if it needed to be replaced. The associate told me it would be a simple repair, but that Asurion didn't actually even give them that option, and that the phone would have to be replaced. They wanted me to wipe my phone, hand it over, wait a few days and then get sent the funds to purchase a new phone, which I would then have to wait for it to arrive. So they wanted me to be without my phone (which I use for work and volunteer work) for who knows how many days, at least 3-5. They also wanted it wiped, which means there'd be no way for me to ensure my data all transfered to the new phone. No other plans I've ever had had required me to send my phone before I have a replacement in hand. When I spoke to customer service, the agent was completely unsympathetic and just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. He finally spoke with someone on the back end while I was on hold for 10+ minutes, and came back to offer me the option of taking the phone to a different repair shop of my choice and sending in my receipt for reimbursement, which would take 2+ weeks to come to me as a check via mail. It makes no sense that they would offer that option but not allow their own repair shop to just fix my phone. This service is a waste of money. I am doing all of the work myself, paying for it up front, waiting around for them to pay me back, and I've already wasted time going to their repair shop and arguing with their customer service. The hassle and the options they offer for taking care of my phone make this service absolutely not worth paying for. I will not purchase a plan from them again and suggest others do not as well. Since this has happened, I have researched the company and it appears they have numerous complaints and run an overall shady operation.
