The magnets hold very strongly and the phone doesn't move around at all. One thing to note is that because the magnets hold so strongly, it is actually a little hard to get my phone off of the charger. I make sure that I try and pry my phone off at an angle but my partner just pulls the phone straight off, and because this charger holds onto the air vent using only clamping pressure it actually slowly pulls the charger off the vent it's mounted to and makes it loose. Once I realized that this was happening I just make sure to press the charger back onto the vent every few days to make sure that it's fully seated and that has solved the problem.
Overall, it's a terrific charger. It's not charging as quickly as a wired connection would but for the ease of use it's perfect to throw my phone onto it for 5% extra charger of a 10-minute drive. I'm thinking of buying another one for use in the other vehicle even though we have a fully functioning cradle-style charger in there because I like this one so much.
This is a very nice charger that we bought as a replacement for a cradle-style dock that used to rattle when driving. It came well packaged and with two different mounting options for the vehicle. It was extremely easy to get ready and set up in place inside the vehicle. It can either use a sticker-style base to affix a ball joint to your dashboard or a clamp-style base to affix the same ball to a vehicle vent. I liked that it came with the two different options, which allows for different preferences or finding out that one of the options wouldn't work for your vehicle.
