for not wanting to spend a fortune, these were considered mid-grade, imo. having used the mdr-v6 for over 20 years, i had higher hopes for these. overall, the noise-canceling was mediocre, the extra app unecessary, and things sounded a little hollow for me.
ended up with anker q20 refurbs...for like $30, i ended up buying two...one for home and one for work. these sound more like what i expected of the sony brand.
