Great for cleaning carpet, hand held suction is weak

It's okay. I was expecting a little more power with the suction thing, but it really is so weak. It does pick up, but not as much as I want to. It does clean very well when I vaccum, but the hand held suction is terrible. I prefer to use it to clean my carpet then to clean any upholstery (my couch or sofa) It is also annoying to clean this machine, it is so bulky and they are so many pieces to clean and it's just a messy business.
