Customer Review

Let's just get the following out of the way right now...

There really weren't a whole lot of other options to choose from when I purchased this protector.

Many of the limited competitors seemed to offer sub-par choices. They just looked cheap. I would've gone with a wallet-style case, because I love the idea of having a money clip and credit card slots too; however, I think that I wouldn't enjoy having to hold the front of the wallet open every time I want to use my cameras.

With that being said, here's my quick take:

+ This case fits snuggly; tight enough that you have to do some wiggling to get it on, yet not too tight...there is no play at all after all corners are snapped in place

+ The material seems very sturdy

+ The semi-transparent backing allows the OnePlus logo to show through

+ The power and volume control overlays fit nicely over the actual buttons so everything feels responsive

+/- The ring/vibrate/silent Slider's cavity is aligned properly; but because of the depth of the case, it is a bit of a struggle to get my finger in far enough to slide it back and forth. Owners with longer fingernails or smaller fingertips likely won't have as much of an issue

- The hole in the back of the case, surrounding the flash, is not quite centered. I fear that this may cause unwanted shadows while taking lowlight snapshots. (I have neither proven or disproven this idea as I've only had the phone and case for a couple of days).

- I also have a very awful suspicion that, because of the new 12r's curved-edge screen, the case may not be deep enough to protect it from a face-down drop. (In other words, the top and bottom edges of the case extend beyond the screen's surface just fine, but the sides of the case are tapered and are thinner than the screen's surface.

Hopefully, I'll never have to test this out.

* If you're still debating on whether the 12R, itself, is worth buying? I say HECK-YEAH!!! Coming off the 8t (which I loved dearly), this new phone is worth every penny of the upgrade!
