Easy to install. I had an existing mechanical doorbell. The hardest part was drilling out two holes in the brick (used a masonry bit) for the base mounting plate. Once that was done, it was super easy to hook up the two wires and go. At the actual doorbell component, removed the cover, installed the power relay in 30 seconds - done.

I believe the wifi capability they have built in could be better. I had to buy a wifi extender to keep it working reliably, even though 4 iPhones, a Google Chrome, a Roku stick, and 3 iPads had No trouble using what was there. And not all of these devices are sucking up bandwidth at all times FYI. Just pointing out that all of these devices are fine with the original Mediacom wireless router's signal.

The last complaint is one that ties in to the one above. If you DO lose your connection, and I did quite often at first, it must be reset. To do that, you have to find that little tool they give you, remove the cover, and then you can hit the reset. Then put it all back together again. Now I get the fact that you don't want just anyone to be able to hit reset at any time, but it still could be just a bit easier. I mean, if it is working - the 'perp' is already on record for doing 'misdeeds' before killing the connection, and If it isn't, then it does not matter if they hit reset or not. So, how about giving us a teeny tiny pinhole to push a paper clip into in order to do a reset. That way, it does not require surgery each time I have to do it. Now, fortunately, I have not had to do this again once I bought and setup the wifi extender - so if you are having problems, try that.

One great thing about the company, is that the 1st unit I received really did have some odd wifi problem and would not connect up, or would, and then immediately lose connection within hours and required resetting. They sent a replacement quickly with no hassle. Easy peasy. They had great tech support to help me diagnose for sure that something was not kosher with the 1st unit.

The online service that is provided is great. The price to store videos is cheap and I recommend just going ahead and paying for a year in advance - best value. It paid off already. One night, two 'perps' were captured on video trying to open our car doors to steal stuff. I downloaded the video and handed it over to the cops the next day. Then, I captured a FedEx driver improperly dropping off a damaged box that had already had the tamper proof tape damaged, and upon reviewing the box it was empty and the contents removed. Notified FedEx and offered to send them the video too, but they did not seem to give a crap.

I recommend buying this if you are nervous about answering your door, or want to know who comes up when you are away. Also good for capturing porch pirates too!
