I bought this in July, it is currently May, so approaching a year that I've owned it. The reason I wanted this particular remote was for the programmable buttons. While the buttons, especially so the programmable ones, are very convenient, there is one major issue. I'm noticing that the backlight eats through batteries like crazy. I've replaced the batteries about 5x already since I bought it. And I'm using brand name batteries, not generic. You can tell when the batteries are getting low, because the backlight stops working. Then sure enough, a few days later the light at the top starts blinking red, and a message pops up on screen saying the batteries are very low, replace them now. It would be really nice if there was an on/off switch for the backlight so it could be turned off in the daytime when it's not needed.
As a side note, the home button hasn't worked properly since I got it. Not positive whether this is a Firestick or remote issue, as my previous remote also had this problem.
