I don't believe there is a car charger that can properly support vertical air vents; at least not in my Acura. That is my only complaint though. I loved my older charger, but my connector was starting to have problems, so I decided to get a MagSafe one. Unfortunately, the setup just wasn't stable with the vertical vents. It was bouncing all over the place. BUT, I hadn't taken off my other charger completely and since they both use a ball joint, I merged the two and it works great. I love not having to unplug the phone when I'm done or having to get it into the clamps that hold it steady on the old system. It easily turns sideways, although there is a bit of bouncing that way. I've had it for about a week or so and I have had no issues with it falling off. It's a good strong magnet. So, I'm very happy.
